Points out exactly that. Silly season… ahoy!
Alpine remains adamant it has a valid contract with Piastri and stands by its announcement.
Really not the most positive way to start a professional workplace relationship.
Hmmm…
I don’t see this on any other sites yet.
Sheesh but after everything Alpine did for Piastri he does this.
Yeah, it’s a bit iffy. Only reason I posted it and am thinking it might have some value is that it’s Dieter Rencken, who is generally very particular about his sources and info.
So, Summer Shenanigans in full swing already. Things that are being, or will be, spoken about during the break:
- Piastri and Alpine / Piastri and McLaren.
- Danny Ric’s future. If Piastri is going to McLaren does Danny go back to Alpine?
- Reports that Haas have put contract extension discussions with Mick Shumacher on hold.
- Whether Mattia Binotto will still have his job when racing resumes in Belgium.
- Whether Chuck Leclerc will still want to stay a Ferrari driver next year. (Could that be maybe why the Schumacher-Haas discussions are on hold? Grumpy Leclerc being courted by someone else and opening the door for Mick to be fast-tracked into the Ferrari seat he is destined to get?)
What else?
Im finding no official reports, i know zak is not happy with dani struggling with the car.
More speculation, this time from the ubiquitous “Multiple sources have revealed…”

I wish someone would pay me $21m to not work for them…
The 2026 F1 power unit regulations have been approved by the FIA.
Here’s a handy summary graphic of the differences, ripped fro r/formula1
And all the info from the F1 channel:
And a little engine history too:
And while I’m looking at the F1 channel, I see we missed the mid-season F1 Animated too…
Not surprised there’s so many Ferrari mentions…
We can only hope!
Not a big Ferarri fan, but love seeing Charles and Max battle! Makes it so much fun! Then throwbin a rogue Merc and HOPEFULLY a McL and this could be amazing…
Then let it rain out and we all watch the rain in Belgium…
Don’t jinx it!!
Forecast is looking cloudy but hot and dry for the race. Mind you, a lot can change over the next four days:
Danny Ric is officially done with McLaren. Will leave the team at the end of the season. Made the announcement himself via his social media accounts.
