What a pleasure of a race to watch. With regards to the Kimi-Hamilton incident : Kimi went in hot, had some understeer and made contact with Hamilchop. Pure racing incident. Mercedes got their strategy wrong on the day. Bottas could have taken the win, but both him and Hamilton started struggling for grip with around 10 laps to go. Ferrari got it bang on and Kimi had an amazing race. Would have been interesting if Maxās brakes didnāt fail, but the kid was so aggressive most of the race itās a miracle the car lasted as long as it did.
Especially when you consider stewards are more ālenientā on first lapā¦Think they were under pressure due to politics of it being Hamilton home turfā¦which i find complete BS. It was even mentioned, Vettel did same thing and completely took Bottas out, and got 5 seconds. Iām not aware that anyone complained after that that wasnāt harsh enoughā¦
This was such an amazing race to watch. All out action from the very first moments to the last lap. I wish all races were this exciting. Iām really glad it happened at Silverstone as well
Hamilton may not have a lot of fans here, but he absolutely gained my respect with that drive! Wow that dude is really fast. To go from stone dead last to second is just amazing. And yes the safety cars helped him, but first he needed to get the job done and gain all those places. Incredible drive from him.
The Kimi incident was just unlucky for Kimi. He came in way too hot and locked up the breaks, and the penalty I think is fair for what transpired. That it happened on Silverstone to Hamilton obviously is going to get people talking about the penalty being harsh and stuff, but Iām pretty sure that it wouldāve been the same had he hit anyone else.
Vettel had a great drive, and that pass on Bottas was extremely well done. Again poor Bottas suffered from tire degredation in those last laps. You could see how easily both Hamilton and Kimi passed him, and Danny Ric was even catching him.
Overall great race!!
Gotta love this fire in Kimmi recently, and hats off to him for taking the blame so easily. Awesome race, Hamilton getting some safety car luck as usual lol(joke between me and my dad).
Ferrari ahead in constructors, what is this new feeling?
Very few drivers have the skills to come from the back and finish on the podium, Hamilton is one of them.
IMHO of the currently active drivers only Hamilton, Vettel and Kimi would be capable of this.
Agree great race, not sure I agree on the āstone dead last to second is just amazingā. When you consider that without safety cars, the only non lapped cars in a normal race are Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes then any one of those drivers is at worst 6th place at the start of a race
I know! I wanna know where Kimiās fire came from! He has be on point of late. Im more interested in the fact that the Merc team - Lewis and Toto feels that this was more on purpose - but both Ferrariās have lost out to these incidents. I just love how quickly there was speculation about it.
The rumour mill was running with it before lewis was interviewed.

Overall like I said before, brilliant race, the only issue I had with the penalty was the 10 seconds - Vettel who did the same thing just got 5secs.
Unfortunately for Lewis and Bottas - the upgrades on that Ferrari is amazing, the fact that for the first time in ages we had a four way fight to the end with just a couple of seconds splitting them.
And thanks for clearing up what happened to Max.

Max Verstappen: āItās not a nice way to finish the triple header but luckily last week was good and the two weeks before were also positive. Thatās racing sometimes. Iāve had it many times before and for sure it will happen also in the future, but of course I wish I would have finished fifth or at least collected some points. Because now we have nothing. It was quite weird, because on lap one I had a brake-by-wire issue, the pedal fell to the floor in Turn 3 but then it recovered and everything was going fine after that. Then after the second safety car I braked for Turn 16 and the pedal literally went to the floor, the rear brakes locked up and I spun off the track. We will now start to investigate what actually happened. Even without the brake issue we were just too slow on the straights to do anything today, you could see it even with Daniel when he was attacking Bottas; when we open the DRS we are the same speed as them without DRS, so you just cannot do anything. I think so far this season I have actually been okay with the reliability of our car, so itās just a shame that it happened here. When you know you have a difficult weekend, you of course want to take some points back home. But one positive aspect of the weekend is that I think we actually have a good car.ā
One thing that has bugged me the last couple races is how quickly the top 4 cars can get back into the race if knocked early on.
The straight line and cornering speed is ridiculous.
It makes the others seem stuck in the mud and overtakes are just a formality.
The we hear how somebody is the greatest ever.
I do feel the cars need to be more on an equal footing.
Thats the difference between an R&D budget of $100000 and $1000000
Kimmi overcooked it last week as well. Heās just trying to get the best out the first corner and is not getting the best braking or he is judging it wrong. Why in hell would he be deliberate. They are just sour, can never take a racing incident as just that.
Thatās just it, youāll need to be extremely good and extremely lucky to be able to take a car with cold tyres into the first couple of corners in such a way to make contact with an opponent while inflicting little to no damage to your own car.
This and the fact that he is singing on christinaās new album, is 2 of the main reasons I donāt like him. Its about fame for him, I am sorry to say that he isnāt a racer anymore, take all the others, in their spare time they are all doing some kind of racing, playing with bikes and cars - we just see the constant attention seeking from Lewis.
This past race is just the cherry on top. I donāt like the person Hamilton became.
What are forum rules for creating a 2nd account just because liking a post once isnt enoughā¦?
We donāt need āToro Rossoā accounts hereā¦
A pretty decent race to watch, especially the last 10 laps or so. Pretty much all worthwhile has already been mentioned by others expect perhaps a solid thumbs up or two for Sebs drive, which I thought was brilliant. His start was a thing of beauty and the way he manged his tyres and controlled things from the front was spot on. He was my DotD.
Also, the āinteresting tacticsā kak from Lewlewbear is ridiculous. A driver making a random comment immediately after a race, with the adrenaline still pumping, is all good and well. But the wanker was still spouting that nonsense 30 minutes later in the press conference. And to hear similar bollocks from a Team Principal like Toto Wolff? Disgraceful. Even if it is something that he personally believes is true, itās not the sort of thing Iād expect from the head of a Championship winning F1 team. Especially not when itās said to the oh so totally unbiased Sky F1 commentators and not in private to the FIA stewards.
Theyāre feeling the pressure, especially after the debacle that was Austria. Merc and Ham have gotten too used to winning without competition, and now that there is a serious threat to their title hopes, theyāve forgotten how to be decent sportsmen and are resorting to the infantile conspiracy theories again. That, together with the ridiculous manner in which the team molly coddle Lewis and his radio tantrums has done nothing to earn them any respect, in my opinion.
The amount of memeās I have seen is mental
Did anybody else see the article that RBR has given Honda the go ahead to test parts out on STR even if it means a grid drop.
Poor Hartley is under the pump, but is referred to as a guinea pig for the team.
would have the next Ferrari driver
