I know a lot of people pull their noses up for Afrikaans series, but honestly some of the best TV I’ve watched in the past few months have been Afrikaans and Kyknet series. There are 2 I want to highlight and would honestly suggest that, if you have a Showmax account, go watch these NOW!!

Die Boekklub: Ek het lanklaas in my lewe so 'n wonderlike melankoliese series gekyk.

The absolutely fantastic Love, Death & Robots anthology of animated shorts on Netflix is getting a Volume 2 release on 14 May! (And a third volume confirmed for 2022 too.)

Volume 1 is outstanding - if you haven’t caught it yet, do it now!

Hammer, you won’t believe it but I actually watched Afgrond with my wife. I must say that Afrikaans shows have gone up in quality a lot since back in the day.

My Afrikaans isn’t that good but I did watch some Afrikaans show once in a hotelroom.

I see it’s marked 002/004, so checked the Russia one and saw it’s 001/004. So by my brilliant math, there will be 2 more teasers. Hopefully not another year from now

I only realised last week that Primevideo was actually available locally, for some reason I thought it wasn’t. I got the free trial and watched Invincible, which was pretty good.

I don’t really see anything else that I’m interested in at the moment though. Already watched The Boys which was also okay.
