A few years ago I got a game called The Showdown Effect in a Humble Bundle (remember those? 
) It was a fun 2.5D brawler that I played for a few weeks. I haven’t thought much about it since but my interest was piqued when I saw this article on PC Gamer:
It’s a pretty cool story about a dedicated fan reverse engineering and updating the game to be a free release with Paradox’s blessing. The multiplayer is peer-to-peer so it may be fun to organise a group of MEWBs to give it a bash.
