I’d say you guys are ok.
I don’t drink hard tack at all but for some reason have a lot of it. All gifts and stuff from back in the day from clients and stuff.

Oh and wine and I hate wine

This is why a our cabinet looks like this. a lot of it is gifts from ppl…and we dont do the shooter thing anymore cause we are anti-social hobbits who dont have a lot of ppl over for braais anymore.
Also i cannt drink alcohol that much anymore as it triggers my autoimune disease…

Haha I know of someone who paid R90 for a pack of 20 Stuyvesant. Bought 10 packets. That’s a lot of money. I’m glad I don’t smoke anymore.

It’s nuts.
The first week of lockdown - R400 got me 240 smokes in total.
Yesterdays drop cost me R400 for 100.

But like…who the hell are you going to complain to?

I know. All I want to do is to inject money into the economy. :innocent:
Instead the money goes to these criminals !

A pox on them!

I just had an epiphany. The person with whom I was the closest I no longer live with.
He and I have a lot in common. Since I don’t share common interests with anyone other than my brother, that’s the reason I’m such an introvert and prefer to spend time alone.

I’ve always been that way - perfectly happy with my own company

Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Ex-smoker friends of mine made an excellent point in Discord last night that I hadn’t even considered.

The reason for the ban on selling cigarettes is because (some/most?) smokers will go to the shops every day.

The whole point of the lockdown is to minimise movement to give the virus as little opportunity to spread as possible, and if smokers go to the shops every day for a pack it just undermines everything.

While I allow that there are plenty of smokers who will be responsible (and/or have the money) and stock up with a week’s supply or more at a time, there are also many more who buy their cigarettes on a pack-a-day basis for whatever reason.

Good luck with that. Non-essential goods cannot be shipped.

My counter argument is people may go to shop every day to buy anything - bread ,milk, perishables - so why single out cigarettes.

That doesn’t matter. Printers and any PC related items are not on the essential goods list. At the risk of a spot fine, no courier companies are taking that chance. You’d probably be best off collecting it - that’s if they let you in the door in the first place.

Then you have to driver back with it and risk some over zealous cop if you get pulled off.

Tell your brother to visit!

@Saint_Dee Glad to hear, its a good thing that you visit here - that way your brain get’s a break. And we get your company

Altho I am gonna try and nap just now.

Go to SAPS and get a letter that you need the item for work purposes - if you can prove it they will give you a letter and you can go collect.

Neighbours just did that to get a printer for work.
