@czc @Wyvern Nope. All I get is the “yes, we can see your link is down. We’ll escalate it” that’s their favourite saying. Escalate it.
Dude, just keep demanding to speak to a manager, that is what I did. And then again I phoned and emailed them at least 5 times a day each.
This is where Cool Ideas let us down. They are REALLY bad with support. I still don’t know officially what caused my internet issues last month- I just had to change the MTU size and all was well.
But I will take your Cool Ideas issues if you want to once again explain to the boss how Teams works.
We have done this time and again, and he just doesnt remember. Just the basics is escaping him - why cant he call a person who is offline. . . . .
Does the other person’s pc/laptop had to be on nevermind online to call.
Yeah, become a karen!
Quick question why the frack would windows forget a driver is installed immediately after it was updated - or just as soon as the camera goes on, it turns off after 2 mins and the screen is black - device manager shows a greyed out device
What laptop?
Asus something or another
not an old one
Do the escalation yourself - post over on the Cool Ideas thread on MyBroadband and ping both @PBCool and @TheRoDent. Give them your support ticket number and ask tell them to pull finger and get you sorted!
When this became an issue at work last week. I did some research and found that the lenovo cameras seem to be locked in privacy mode. This was after the move to windows 10 I assume. I downloaded Lenovo Vantage and enabled camera in the software. Now all the skype, teams, zoom cameras work.
So not sure if Asus would have something similar.
At first I was getting no reply. I was creating tickets asking if there was an update but go no replies. Eventually went onto their twitter and got a reply there saying they would get someone on it. That’s when I got the ‘escalation’ message after that suddenly. I thought of going the MyBB forum route but I’m thinking what is it going to help. I’ll give them the day and see later. At 5pm it will have been 48 hours since I first reported it. Still have no news of what’s wrong, just the ‘escalation’.
@Shrike It really feels like that
That could be but I havent found fuckall to show that. Its an Asus Pro P2520LA
Hello, everyone!
Been a crazy few days, but I’m around even if I’m not hanging out in #threadkiller.
@Entity: Sorry to hear your fibre is down. I see there was some maintenance on the Frogfoot network in your city. Not sure if it was in your area — https://coolzone.cisp.co.za/announcements.php?category=1
I hope they sort you out soon. If not, I definitely second @GregRedd’s recommendation. Do your own escalation via PBCool and TheRoDent on the MyBroadband forums. They are high up at Cool Ideas.
So the solution according to the boss is a new laptop. Feel so bad for Nima who has to sort out the laptops.
All I know is I am done…
And fibre is back. Took the Frogfoot guy 1 minute to do after asking for the serial number over the phone. Literally a minute. What gets me is how did that happen in the first place. A configuration change out of the blue. I was the only one in our complex. It wasn’t any maintenance or anything.
But alas!!! It is sorted. No use fretting over it.
Thanks for the help and suggestions and willing and unwilling ears @czc @Wyvern @GregRedd @Shrike @SIGSTART
Ready for action
My ears are always willing .
I’ve had something similar happen when a technician came in to connect my neighbour and disconnected my line in the process. It’s a long story, the technician was doing his best and there was a miscommunication, but still very frustrating.
Hello again.
Yeah. I just straight up forget about MEW.
So I took a day off for the first time in a year. I got up at 07:30, played with my son, had a 2.5 hour nap and then mowed the lawn. Now I’m sitting with him watching toddlers songs on the iPad while he eats a peanut butter sandwich. Today was a good day.
