Sydney is most excellent. He recently had a bath, which he didn’t like, but he’s so soft and fluffy!
He’s really come a long way. He expresses affection now, he plays with us in the mornings and he’s not so afraid of other people anymore.
We’ve taken him to a leash-optional dog park in Pretoria twice now and he’s always amazing. Unless he is super excited about a new smell, he’s responsive to when we call him and a few basic commands like “wait” and “let’s go”.
He’s actually less afraid in general. At least twice now we’ve seen him stand up for himself. Once at the dog park there was a dog that was snapping at him, and Sydney would stand his ground. We’ve also discovered that there’s some ridgeback in him, because when he gets riled up the ridge on his back stands on end. Like a porcupine! Just less spiny.
