I thought of a fun little thing we can do. Each week we can have a throwback Thursday question, and we can discuss it and get all nostalgic to the good old days.
So what was the very first game you ever played that you can remember?
I can’t perfectly recall which game was first for me, but it is either Space Quest 1 on PC or Super Mario Bros on one of those “TV-games” machines in a 100-in-1 cartridge. Why I can’t remember is that we got both a PC and the TV-games at almost the same time, and my father let the IT guy at work add games onto the PC for me to play. I was so young and couldn’t spell English all that well (not like things have changed…amirite!) so I struggled playing Space Quest. But I was so interested in this 16 colour game where I could control a character. Was mind-blowing for my tiny brain.
SimCity. The original one (think they refer to it as SimCity Classic now). I played it on a monochrome monitor for over a year before getting my first colour screen. Shit, I’m old.
I can’t remember. probably not. I was too young to understand what I was doing really. I didn’t even know its name until now. I just googled old DOS castle game, and it came up.
I can’t remember the first game I played. Was some tv game.
The first one I can clearly remember was Abe’s Oddysee on PlayStation.
First PC game(s) was the Sim games: Sim Farm, Sim City, Sim Park, Sim everything.
The first game on my first PC was Age of Empires II.
the very first game i ever played was tetris on my tv game (nes clone) in 1990 when i received the console as my bday present, i think it was on a 16 in 1 cartridge if i remember correctly
jeez, had to think hard here but my first game ever played was Pong on an Atari console.
crazy to think, wow what a memory. I remember being completely unimpressed. haha I couldnt have been older than 3 or 4 either.
The first game I “every” played, that I can remember, was Police Quest I. The very first one where you had to type in the commands. I was around 5 years old, IIRC.
