In case it wasn’t already clear that the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is all but dead, the man on the box has confirmed that he’s no longer working with series publisher Activision.
Speaking on Twitter, Tony Hawk responded to fans asking for remasters or complaining about the current games by explaining that he is no longer a part of the series:
It’s not been a rosy period for THPS. Original developer Neversoft was shuttered in 2014, and replacement developer Robomodo has made a series of poor sequels, culminating in 2015’s abysmal Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. At least the HD remake was good - even if the soundtrack wasn’t quite right.
A documentary about the making of the series, Pretending I’m A Superman is now in post-production, and Hawk has previously hinted that he’s working on a new game without Activision.
