How do you download files?

  • save file to Downloads and leave it there
  • save file to Downloads and then move to final destination
  • save file straight to its long term destination
  • save file to a Temp folder that is regularly emptied

My old downloads folder is so messy. I’ve got things in there from 2008.

Depends on the file sometimes, if I am downloading like an .exe installer file or something then I leave it in the downloads folder and just run it, and install to the correct place. if it is like mod files for games or a file related to something I already have on my PC, then I move it the correct place.

What if I download files into the Download folder, then organise it into folders within the Download folder…

This is pretty much it for me.

I’ve been making use of a program called Internet Download Manager for many many years. It organises the downloads for you. Some of the stuff I will move then however. Some of the stuff stays there until deleted.

I set my browser to always ask me and download the file to it’s permanent location. More recently that location is more often than not the downloads folder!

I do the same, stuff that needs to be kept, like install files, I will keep in a specific folder.

Other stuff I tend to move as is needed. And I constantly delete what is not needed long term.

Could never afford it - when it comes to paying a monthly sub for iRacing versus having Game Pass for the family, it’s no contest.

Happy to live in ignorance of the game - no matter how good it is - just so I don’t get sucked in.

If I had time to give to any form of sim racing, iRacing is the one I would happily get back into. I wish I could get back into it and give it another go. But wow I’ve not had more than 1 hour of gametime at any time

My wife always gets upset with me when I don’t answer her phone, like when she’s busy. My argument is that it won’t be for me anyway and it’s not my phone to answer. So, I put it to thee, do you answer your partner’s phone if they are unable?

  • Ya, of course! What if it’s in an emergency.
  • Nah, let it ring. If it’s important they’ll call back.
  • Depends who’s calling.
