I got myself Ys VIII on Switch and since I now have to self isolate for 10 days, I’ll be playing that a lot.
I picked up Scarlet Nexus, it’s been a pleasant surprise.
The presentation and story is strongly “anime”, but I knew that (and like it).
The action is pretty great so far! So much happens all at once, a real feeling of organised chaos, but it’s immensely satisfyingly when it all comes together.
I was also gifted A Plague Tale and started that. Not too far in but the story and setting seem interesting.
Still Genshin Impact, getting a little tired of it, especially if I want to shake things up and do something different I have sink cash in to gamble for a new character and change in gameplay. That just sucks, I would gladly pay up front for a new character but this whole “gacha” concept to gamble for it, irritates me.
Downloaded Torchlight 3 again, going to try the new character class and see how it goes. Only 32 more days to go to New World!!
Yeah that’s asian games for you, gacha will always be a thing. Tried the co op for genshin, but it is kinda lacking, can’t really go through the story with someone, it’s more of like a “hey I need to defeat a boss/dungeon, come join me” kinda thing. Also can’t activate any statues whilst in co op which is stupid.
Meanwhile, still playing warzone, new clip up on youtube, also I friend of ours has turned to the PCMR, the three of us are now playing Forza Horizon 4 multiplayer, could only do one race so far, since we had to get the bloody xbox app to add each other as friends and that took a while.
I tried to play Cyberpunk. I just cannot get into it. The whole game feels clumsy. Its not a great shooter, nor RPG, nor open world game. Its trying too hard and falls way short.
We did the convoy thing in Forza Horizon 4, and damn it is a lot of fun, as a group of people comming from constant warzone playing, this is significantly less toxic, and just so relaxing to play, the game is actually so goood since the free wheelspins usually means you will always have money which means you can just keep buying and customizing cars, and there are over 400 of then
A little bit of Genshin still, started playing Neverwinter again, nice to do some straight up fantasy RPG, it is not bad if you can avoid all the P2W traps.
Got myself Scarlet Nexus and I am loving it. The combat is exceptional. At first I didn’t really enjoy the story stuff too much but it does get a lot better after a while. Also really happy with the performance of this game. I saw on DF video even the next-gen consoles can’t keep a fully solid 60FPS (probably because of the resolution) but on my PC it runs smooth 60FPS on high settings. The only time I’ve seen it drop below 60 is when the game is loading or maybe for like split second when an effect is loading/happening.
Does anyone here play Minecraft, I think @oltman did (does)?
I am wanting to get my son more involved in games which have a strong helpful community and expose him to playing with “friends” rather than randoms. I was thinking of going for one of those Minecraft Realms servers if there are any peoples here that play.
And @oltman made me lus to play some Risk of Rain 2, so that’s what I did to burn off some work day steam. Such a niche game and I love it.
Well, I actually set up my own Minecraft server for my kids to play on this holiday! And now the cousins jooned in as well as @Nosferatie’s laaitie.
It is just a creative world where they can build to their heart’s content, and then one day I will turn on survival mode for fum.
Ages range from 5 to 14.
I, on the other hand, have finished Portal one and making good progress with Portal 2. This must be the 3rd or 4th time, but its been such a long time that it feels new to me.
Sounds like a triumph.
That’s awesome, I suppose you’re running the Mincraft Java edition? I think the two versions aren’t cross playable.
I’m in a bit of a weird gaming slump in that whenever I think of playing soemthing I go to the Xbox’s games and scroll up and down trying to decide on something.
Most nights I find myself kicking off either European or American Truck Simulator, granted I love these games, just can’t find anything else that is satisfying me.
I’m that way with Destiny 2 currently. I have best intentions to start up something else, but I find myself just starting it up again and grinding away some season triumphs for an hour or 2.
Come play Division with me.
That might not be such bad idea. But you’re waaaay ahead of me.
Neverwinter for my MMO itch, Total War: Warhammer II for something completely different. I feel I have a nice varied combo going now to carry me to the 31st of August when New World arrives.
That’s ok. Im sure the game has some form of scaling in place? Plus they changed difficulty across the board for everyone. The first time you play you have to play on story difficulty which is quite easy. I remember dying a LOT on the PC version before this was a thing and on Xbox I died less than 5 times during the entire base campaign.
I honestly think my gaming habits have changed drastically. At the moment the only games I play are:
Factorio
F1 2020
Hearts of Iron 4
