So this is probably more relevant to the PC crowd than the console gamers (although they too are moving away from the shiny, round objects).
I’ve been trying to install The Witcher 3 via GOG galaxy but it keeps failing at some stage - after downloading the full 36GB though… So now I have resorted to installing the game off of the DVD disks (got the game via a really good Takealot sale a while back).
When last did you install a game via physical media? Do you even have an optical drive in your PC anymore? Let me know while I insert disk 4 of 6.
I think the last game i installed from disk was Assassins Creed 3, only because i got the collectors edition and it took ages!. After that i decided to never do this ever again. I still have my optical drive installed just on the off chance i need it for something
Ive got a massive collection of game disks, I re-installed ArmA in april from disk and thinking of playing Assassins Creed 3 from disk again because its the best Creed game.
Same. I too have a pretty big collection of physical disks and tend to prefer installing from them if it means I can save on time/cap downloading the whole game.
I also approve of your opinion on AC III. It is indeed the best one of them all and Connor is the most badass assassin ever to feature in the series.
Years ago. My pc doesn’t even have a dvd drive.
Steam/Gog,ect just make life so much easier. Also I got tired of the local distributors shipping delays each and every time there was a mayor release.
With a 100mbps fibre uncapped line, time and data is no issue.
