Out of interest’s sake. Will any of you get the new consoles and which one will you get?

I’m lucky that I saved up enough ebucks over the last couple of years especially for the new console launch and will stick to the XBox Series X.

Looking at my finances I think this will be the first new console release that I don’t get it on launch date. Seeing as my wedding is like a week later, there is no way I have any money left to get any of the new consoles right now.
But next year I will start saving for that, and I’ll probably go for the Series S. The console is going to be plugged into a 1080p TV, and as long as all the newest games looks good and works perfectly at 60Hz on it, it will be my choice.

I won’t buy it at launch but definitely PS5 first if money is not a problem. Then an X or S down the line as well.
It all depends on what Nintendo does though. Switch pro / 2 will be next.

Haha fair enough. Though I really doubt someone will be buying the PS5 and PS5 Digital.
The new Nintendo console is going to cost R20 000. Nobody can afford that.

If I had the money… and the time. There have been PS exclusives in the past I know that I’d have loved to play. But if I consider how little time I actually spend gaming on console I don’t think it would be a worthwhile purchase for me. PC gaming is my default go to. The games are also a whole lot cheaper and I find that the hardware whilst expensive lasts a long time. Getting stuff 2nd hand helps too. Add the fact that more and more console games are being released on PC it seems the best option for me.

I might get the PS5 at some point. Probably around the time that Gran Turismo 7 releases.
I will stick to PC for the time being.

If I were to get anything I would lean towards the PS5, just because of a few nice exclusives. The Series X, just like the Xbox One, doesn’t offer anything I want that I can’t get on my PC.
I only need to look at the prices of the games to convince me that I don’t need either of them though.

i’ll wait for the ps5 slim, dont like the aestetics of the launch models and both horizon 2 and miles morales are coming to ps4, kena is delayed and thats also coming to ps4 so apart from ratchet and clank i dont see a reason to get a ps5 at launch apart from the timed exclusives

This. Another reason is Game Pass for PC. All the games I’m interested in from Microsoft are launching on PC, so I’ll be sticking with that. I have little time for gaming these days, so sold off my PS4 as well. Sony needs a REALLY compelling reason to get me to buy a PS5, and the new Horizon game isn’t one, as it will probably end up on PC eventually.
