Who remembers the Prince of Persia games?

The Prince of Persia series is one that has stretched over many years, from the first 2D platformer to the 3D Action Adventure games later on. This video briefly covers gameplay from all of the games.

Some of my favourite games are part of the PoP series. The Sands of Time, Warrior Within and Two Thrones trilogy are all great games - even despite the weird tonal shift from the Arabian nights feel of Sands to the heavy rock/emo Warrior within.

The 2008 reboot was a game you either loved or hated - and I was one of those who loved it. From the art style to the story, the gameplay may not have been the best but the complete package was a magical journey that I wonā€™t forget taking.

I have still yet to play Forgotten Sands but maybe I should include it in a replay of the trilogy.

Which Prince of Persia is your favourite?

Ass-Ass-in-s-Creed and obviously its successor, and why stop a good thing now?

My favourite will continue to be between Warrior Within and The Two Thrones.

Apparently Assassins Creed originally started off as another Prince of Persia.

I have also enjoyed the AC series until I got a bit of fatigued by it with AC3 - must still continue one day with AC4.

Sadly the success of the AC series is probably the reason why we wonā€™t see any new PoP games any time soon

Opened this thread hoping for some good 12
nostalgia, instead I find a bunch of kids talking about console games :stuck_out_tongue:

Iā€™ll bite. I remember playing it, the original, at a friends house. I remember not being very good. All I remember are those floor panels that you either have to jump over or sprint over. Something like that. Then the first guy I had to swordfight against would always kill me. Should maybe get an emulator of it some time.

I remember finishing the first game several times, with and without cheats. It was glorious.

Who needs an emulator when you can play instantly?

Thatā€™s quite cool. Iā€™ll be trying that.

Have you ever been bitchslapped before?

What for? canā€™t handle banter? :stuck_out_tongue:

On a serious note, the teen in me did enjoy Warrior Within, that was the one with the black shadow thing chasing you at times right? that was pretty cool also enjoyed the level design quite a bit

The Dahaka, those were some tense moments, you just heard the music and you knew it was time to run.

I want to get the water sword when I replay the game so you get the ā€œtrueā€ boss fight against the Dahaka. Apparently itā€™s pretty tough.

This was the game that introduced me to Godsmack, I have at least one of their albums.

This was also the reason I began to like Hard Rock as a teen.

Would love to play this again, but I donā€™t think it runs on systems higher than XP.

I tried making an XP boot drive some time in last year that went really south!

I loved all of them. Especially the trilogy. They will always be in my list of top games of all time.
