Windows 10 Browsers and Vram

So I noticed something interesting today, as I’m sure most of you know most modern browsers will use Vram and your GPU when they can.

Firstly I noticed Chrome uses less Vram than Firefox which surprised me because we all always bitch about Chrome being Ram greedy, it also seems to scale better when you open more and more tabs.

Secondly I assumed Windows would swap out the Vram when it needed it even if you leave the browser open and not in use on another screen while gaming, well I ran the FFXV benchmark and got 2 different scores 3770 vs 3880.

I have never really given it much thought till today that having items open on your second monitor would impact game performance , albeit most likely a small amount

I ditched both and switched to Vivaldi, haven’t looked back yet

Call me pedantic, but I close everything running in the background before I game, unless I’m playing something really lightweight. Besides, with only a single screen, leaving stuff open makes little sense.
