That sucks. I never realised how often I want to open task manager by right clicking on the taskbar. It’s not a thing in Windows 11 anymore.
I have never clicked to open task manager, I always use the search bar and type what I need.
I press Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Does that work in Windows 11?
It does! Nice one, thanks!
Ha! I was just going to share that shortcut with @Solitude. I use so many keyboard shortcuts for WIndows!
I need to learn them all, I haven’t yet, just the one for the snipping tool since I use that the most
WIN + .
= best shortcut ever!

I also can’t get used to that. It’s there when you right click on the Start button though.
Thanks! I didn’t realise one could right click on the Start button.
I pinned the task manager as an app to my taskbar as an alternative…
So I have a question, or perhaps a comment. I’m not sure when an update was done to Windows security, but ever since this weekend many, if not all the games I tried to play gave me issues. Every time I would open a game, I would get a popup from Windows security that access to the save game folder is blocked by the administrator. Which makes no sense. and many games didn’t want to either load or save due to this. The moment I get the popup and allow access to the folder, everything works fine. Not sure if this is something that’s gone wrong with my settings or what, but its super annoying.
Maybe related to the recent XBOX app update that allows you to install games to a different folder than the standard Windows Apps folder?
Yeah this sounds like security inside windows itself not the defender software. Send me a photo of the popup?
Microsoft moves to new Windows development cycle with major release every three years, feature drops in between
The new update 22H2 is live. No idea when this launched, my laptop only suggested I download this today. Here are the deets:
There have been some issues with it:
So YMMV.
On my PC I haven’t had any performance issues with my Nvidia card but it did mess up some display resolution settings in some games. A switch back to the default res fixed the problem though.
Nvidia have released a hotfix if you get issues after updating Windows
I just need to get into windows first…
Side question: is there still a way to use Windows 11 and not make a Microsoft account?
I am not sure, actually. I used to install Windows without an internet connection, and this would allow me to create a local account. If you are connected at all it wont let you skip the MS account thing, and no local account option.
It has been a while since I needed to do that though and not sure if this still works.
Had to Google YMMV! But its a good one to have!
