I know this is going to be dependent on many factors…
What Field Of View do you find most comfortable/suitable. and if you can change it, what do you change it to?
Me…:
If I have the option to adjust my FOV, it’s usually between 95-100, this being on my 24" inch LED monitor, sitting around ±60cm away from the screen.
In Fallout 4, I change it to:
FOV 100 95, in the console (`) command. Weapon’s size on screen is smaller, and more on the weapon is shown. The Pip Boy’s text is a little small, but it’s a small price to pay.
Console gamers ain’t got the luxury for FOV settings, so I have no preference at all. I’ve only ever felt I needed to change the FOV in one game on PC as well.
I always aim for 90 and ‘mod’ all my games on PC to have this fov. even the 3rd person games.
I wish they could sort it out on consoles. It’s like simulated peripheral vision.
Does console POV really have that big an impact? On PC I can understand, as you are sitting close to the screen. But with consoles I’m sitting more than 2m from my TV, so the POV doesn’t have the same impact as with PC.
