Add some Fertilizer to the ground in winter then when spring comes you can plant. Don’t add too much while your growing things. Since it will burn the roots.

Good to know. I’m using pots at the moment. Main reason being I never go out back, so having them in pots by the door is the only way they’ll get watered. Although with my SS gifts (arduino sensors) I’ll be able to rig something up, if nothing more than reminders when it isn’t raining out.
