Thanks to @Solitude’s Evetech heads-up, my Black Friday shopping was done on Wednesday already.

They’ve obviously hired a bunch of casual staff to help out with their Black Friday sale.

Agreed. Unfortunately I already have a first gen Ryzen chip, so upgrading to second gen isn’t worth it. 3rd gen though is a very nice performance boost.

I had a bit of bad luck with Black Friday. Bought a headset and didn’t realise it was the wrong version number. When I realised my mistake I let Takealot know but now the one I wanted isn’t on special anymore.
I bought a gift for my wife and that was cancelled by Takealot because it’s no longer in stock.
And that’s basically it. Very disappointed about the headset. I screwed up royally there.

Like @aldyr says, only Ryzen deals I’ve seen are for 2nd gen stuff. And then they’re also pretty few and far between. Only vaguely decent offer I’ve found is from takealot of all places:

Not half bad. I can get the 3600 for less than that though. It’s actually not super expensive, but R3700-ish is still quite a bit of cash to drop, so I’m experiencing buyer’s hesitation. Hopefully no remorse.

Does anyone use www.dealsdealsdeals.co.za?
It tracks historical pricing and will say if a certain product is at a historical low or if the discount is in frequent rotation. It’s not a storefront for any of the products, so there’s no bias as far as I can tell.
If you scroll down to “today’s good deals” there’s some decent stuff there, not all tech related either.
