Call of Duty: Warzone

Well, as a solo I have been unable to get into any type of match… Regardless of how high the ping gets :frowning: Will try again on the weekend.

Cool, I’ve got it install so I could help out. I’ll let Jeff know too as he may be interested in giving it a go.

DMZ might do for you, it has less players and more AI, I was able to play one game solo of it, and in the entire game I only found 1 human (who unfortunately killed me on the escape chopper) yet I was able to enjoy fighting against the AI, as they scale in difficulty, making some very easy fights, and some very close call fights. If you want to go battle royal, keep in mind there is proximity chat and south africans are very colorful with their language, they also all have PEP mics so they sound awful, best is just to turn of voice chat in that instance.

The game right now is not good, it completely glitched out and broke for us yesterday, we were able to get two matches of BR before my friends called it quits. What we experienced was: My brother won the gulag, yet we as his teammates started spectating someone completely different, then at the second game, my friend tried to use a recon drone, as soon as he spawned it, the drone exploded, leaving him stuck in the drone screen and unable to move. The gulag bug for one, was even in the streamer event a week prior to the games release.

So with all that said, CoD is, and almost always has been just a game you can shoot people in, and honestly the shooting feels nice, it scratches the FPS itch, but don’t take this game too seriously, there are bugs still present since warzone 1, the community is a bit toxic, but playing with friends can be enjoyable and everyone can have a laugh together, I have some vids up on my channel of Warzone 1, and the game is basically still the same, its the same steak, different sauce.

If anyone wants someone to play with, just let me know, I am able to play after 17:00 almost every day.

And I guess that is essentially all I’m looking for. I don’t like to play with randos and I enjoy my own time. I don’t mind dropping in/on with friends but my capability of being on mic is very limited being a family man, not to mention time and availability.

But I thoroughly enjoyed the last COD I played, BLOPS3. Also, if I dip into this it will only be on Xbox. Though I am sure this supports cross-play.

Indeed Steve it does so are you going to join us?

I’ll see if I can download it before the weekend, load-shedding permitting. Might have to make space to accommodate it.

I have now been able to play quite a few games of DMZ, and I must say it is quite fun, both solo and with a friend, for the most part it just feels like a co-op survival against the AI game, very few times did we get enemy players, and even then, it was nice even battles and although it is bad to loose your loot, it doesn’t feel too heart wrenching, you just begin again and before you know it, you have what you lost and more. I even ran a few games where I choose to spawn with nothing, kill one AI to get a gun, and then just build from there, was able to ambush 3 players and kill them on my own, by blending in with the confusion of the AI, so satisfying.

Nice! It sounds a lot more forgiving than the Cycle so it could be fun for some casual play.

Ja we managed to play a few games last night (game is so broken…) and it’s def fun. Like a more forgiving Tarkov.

BUT, the game did rob me of my fully kitted M4. It was in my insured slot, I exfilled with it in hand, but when I got back to the lobby the insured slot was on cooldown and my rifle was gone :rage:

Insured weapons come back. Hopefully I think. I teamed up with blueberries and let’s just say I start every DMZ match with nothing and then have to loot enemies for guns. It sucks

yeah no I’m not into the hero runs. I generally only clear out my secondary slot so I can bring back something new. Still have to figure out how you get non-contraband weapons

I know you get weapons from running the missions they give you

but even those are contraband. at least all the ones I’ve seen so far

the only weapons that are not contraband are the ones in the insurance slots, those weapons are the ones you have in CoD in general i.e the ones you make loadouts with in MP and BR, you get more insurance slots by completing faction missions, you reduce the cooldown on your insurance slots by playing dmz normally.

Also, large backpacks found in the game allow you to stow one extra weapon, you can have up to 10 contraband weapons stashed way.
