So yeah, I was going to get a disciplinary hearing for not being willing to work during the lockdown, but today one of the bosses came to see us and inform us that the hospital has decided to close to the public except for emergencies. As such the hospital management has decided that we are not essential and none of us will be working during this period. I won’t get paid but at least I know my job is secure at the end of this.

Yeah, our omplex is stating that you are meant to stay within your property and no movement in the communal ground will be allowed. But what about those with yards, they can at least go outside, and those that have dogs can walk their dog within the complex and return their house/apartment.
Personally I don’t see an issue with going to sit in the sun outside, afterall, the complex is part of my ‘property’ too, is it not? Not like I’m engaging in social avtivities and I’m not walking in a public space (well it’s public in the sense of our community).

Routine is key in times like these. If you want to sleep in then do, but only give yourself 30minutes to an hour extra. Then get up and shower/bath and get dressed. You can always take a nap later if needed.
Then you can play games or watch tv all day, but at least you’ve done some routine. It will give you ‘purpose’ which helps the mind.

Have any of the big banks done anything at all to help individuals in any way? I know Standard made a big splash about some SMME debt and Student Loan allowances. But any relief for individuals - bonds, credit card interest, overdraft fees, vehicle loans? Anything at all? Blood sucking leeches, the lot of them.

Nedbank let me know that they are dropping the minimum repayment on credit card to 2.5%, I think that is down from 5%

Its going to take a few days for people to wake up that ITS A LOCK DOWN!! friend of mine went a to a friend today we gave him a mouth full. So hopefully he knows.
Sigh its 21 days and its day 1 but i must say well done to the cops and everyone else so far they are really doing great work to stop the idiots at the current time.
