Coronavirus - COVID-19

Great reading and info here! Thanks for contributing. Vaccines are a big thing of late.

Unsure if that validity of some of this information. Is there a specific South African strand of the virus?

‘Our’ virus has three mutations.

Basically @Mottamort saved up his points and bought out three mutations at once.

South Africa got to South Africa

South Africa’s vaccines will be stored in a secret, centralised location from where they will be distributed to healthcare facilities.

Fat lot of good that’s going to do - the thieves are already inside the building!!

This is the same bunch of self-enriching cadre-deployed chucklefucks that can’t even manage to keep national exam papers secure.

Anyone who enables this kak by paying an unofficial source for a “vaccine” deserves to be fleeced for thousands, and deserves the consequences of whatever it is that they’re actually putting into their bodies.

Next big underground growth industry: fake or illegal vaccination certificates to show employers and border agencies.

Next big legitimate growth industry: vaccination certificate verification services.

Plot twist: the same cadres will be fulfilling both services.

I wonder if the rhetoric around the vaccines haven’t been all wrong. All these conspiracy theorists with the “Bill Gates 5G mind control vaccine” nonsense assume that the vaccine will just be made available to everyone.

We should emphasise the fact that the vaccines are going to be quite exclusive for quite awhile. The first doses will be going to health care workers and other front-line personnel, followed by those who are next-most at-risk (i.e. elderly, those with comorbidities, etc.)

Most conspiracy theorists won’t be given the chance to refuse the vaccine for at least a year because they won’t even be offered a shot for that long. :smiling_imp:

I completely agree with this and support. Just curious though, what sort of screening will be done in order to determine of you’re elligble and at high-risk in order to receive one?

Daily new cases and daily deaths still tracking up. We are way higher than the June-July peaks of last year.

Those are both 7-day rolling averages. Globally it’s not slowing down either, despite vaccines rolling out. The variants are appearing all over the world now. Even New Zealand is reporting new cases again.

I think it’s inevitable that we are going to be going back to more stringent lockdown restrictions. Probably to be announced within days, probably at least equal to Level 4 restrictions.

I have no idea why that sentence was so satisfying to read.

@Beo: The screening is similar to what has already been implemented to determine testing. The screening questionnaire probably won’t change much.

You sound very naive. The first people to get the Vaccines (if we not even going down the rabbit hole of ‘fake/quick-buck knockoff’ variants) will be the same ministers who told us that its caused by 5g towers, the rest will be sold at a big markup to their friends and family…maybe some will trickle down to the frontline ppl :stuck_out_tongue:

yes i’m like that

Yeah but surely it would be of detriment to our economy, so I suspect if it does move towards a hardened lockdown that it will only be for a shorter containment period, say one week.

I think that’s plausible, because I think the timing of the current spike is also a big contributor. We are now at 11 days after New Year’s, so if we assume a spike in numbers for Christmas day, one for New Year’s, and one for return to work on 4 Jan, we’ll hopefully see the numbers slow down a bit after the 15th. All this is pure conjecture and speculation, though

I am staying positive and saying an extension of level 3

Did he give an indication of how long it would last during the last speech?

until Friday, so level 3 till 15th, hence why i think we will stay at it

Ahh that makes sense then. It still does seem early for an announcement of an extension. I got some fake news that it will be level 4 from Jan 16 to Feb 15, but it also said tobacco sales will be affected, which was deemed unconstitutional, so I’m not holding any weight on that.

I’m really trying hard to stay positive, I cant afford to lose even one job right now :frowning:
