Coronavirus - COVID-19

I’d rather stay negative. Mind you, I haven’t had a covid test yet.

My sinuses have no control!

But ya, I have been fortunate to not have had any contact with covid positive people, etc…

Might be a good idea for them to clear your sinuses out for you?

This is the wrong thread to say you are “positive”

Also, I expect nothing less than a Level 3 + lockdown. Like New Game + there is no economical comebacks from anything stronger. I am not saying I disagree that we need it, I am just saying it will be devastating for the economy and our family business…

So my sister’s husband tested positive today (he woke up with a sore throat). My sister is high risk though so they’ve been quite careful.
So she was talking to a nurse who is working in one of the covid wards at a hospital in Nelspruit and she says things are quite hectic. They’ve got children admitted, Mediclinic is at full capacity and oxygen is finished (not sure if it is Mediclinic nationwide or just Nelspruit). Apparently 33 people died over the weekend, just in her ward and the people have no idea how or where they got it.

It’s terrible out there. I hope your sister and her husband are alright.

Thanks. Thus far it is just her husband and their baby started with a runny nose and sneezing now. Her child is however 6 months older than ours and babies usually surf through it like nothing.

We had running nose, sore throats and typical flu like symptoms recently. Unsure if it was covid or otherwise, but I’ve been told that unless you’re certain, high risk or critical condition to avoid the hospitals. This is two fold, due to capacities at the hospitals and the risk of getting infected due to going. Medical aid (Discovery) actually advised to stay home when I called to find out where to go to get tested.

Oy @murfle I won the bet

Ok, so it seems my sister is negative while her husband is positive. Still no idea where he got it since he isn’t currently going out to see clients, they come to him and their offices have screens and sanitizing stations and everything.

Following my spiel about making sure conspiracy theorists understand the vaccine is exclusive, here’s the plan:

In Phase 1, with the first batch of vaccines, 1.2 million frontline health workers will be prioritised.

“In Phase 2, when more vaccines arrive, we will prioritise essential workers such as teachers, police, municipal workers and other frontline personnel. We will also prioritise people in institutions like old age homes, shelters and prisons, people over 60 years of age and adults with co-morbidities. The total number we plan to reach in this phase is around 16 million people,” he said.

In Phase 3, with increased manufacturer supplies, government will then vaccinate the remaining adult population of approximately 22.5 million people.

“We will then have reached around 40 million South Africans, which is considered to approximate herd immunity,” he said.

Do they have expected, or at the very least, predicted timelines for when they hope to roll out these phases?

Not having your glasses fog up whenever you breath is already a huge plus. I have tried masks with “filters” on and they fail at it.

How can you say that when it has RGB?!?!?!?!

Okay, I’m joking, and I can’t watch @DarthMol’s video here at work, but I’d love to see the inevitable video of a mask pulse red or blue for low health or mana ingame!
