As much as I want to register, I don’t qualify just yet.
Same. I’ll probably be last on the list.
Ja, at the moment is only healthcare workers and over 60’s that can register. Luckily my parents registered, my parents in law need our help with technology to register, but are willing.
@Solitude: Not sure if this’ll help, but it can’t hurt:
Very thorough and well researched article on the J&J Vaccine pause, which has since been lifted.
Thanks, will send that through.
That stuff today is specifically for Discovery clients to register for the Discovery vaccination tracking service. We’ll still need to complete the official gubberment registration when it opens for later phases.
We’re all very keen to get vaccinated ASAP in Casa de Rojo. Partly because none of us is a silly conspiracy theory nut, mostly because without it we won’t be able to travel anywhere for a long time. And we need to be able to travel as soon as possible if there’s to be any chance of saving the Missus’ business.
For farks sakes, why are we still letting people in from India - its like the gov wants another wave to control us
For those of y’all who are also dealing with vaccine hesitancy in your family, John Oliver’s video on the topic was pretty decent.
Scrunged face fear baboon is going on my go to list of insults now.
What time is it?
Egg
I have some colleagues over in india and they are fearing at the moment. Things are so bad over there. Share a prayer for those that are facing these dire circumstances.
There’s been a 17% increase in the 7-day average of new cases since last week. Yesterday’s test positivity rate was up to 11%. Vaccinations administered so far are just 700 000.
The third wave is coming, and with it, revised restrictions and lockdown rules. If you’re a drinker, you should probably stock up on your booze now…
Just got an email from my child’s school, seems they’re being proactive about it.
Due to the unforeseen Covid-19 infection number increase in the past few weeks,
management has made a decision regarding the upcoming assessments. This
decision was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being
of all our learners.

8:15am to write their assessments and to be collected from school at 11am. This is
applicable for all learners from Grade 00-Grade 3.
As from Monday 31 May the following will apply:
• A fresh set of casual clothes (civvies) should be worn every day.
• The learners can bring a bottle of water and a small snack for the day.
• Aftercare will start earlier from 11am and end at the usual time.
Please take note that our assessment timetable has been revised. Foundation Phase
assessments will start on Monday, 7 June until Thursday, 10 June. Kindly familiarise
yourself with the revised timetable below.Monday, 7 June – Afrikaans
Tuesday, 8 June – English
Wednesday, 9 June – Mathematics
Thursday, 10 June – Life SkillsOnce the assessments are completed, it is the parents’ choice whether they would like
to send their child to school from 8am – 11am or keep him/her at home.
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s
classroom teacher via email.
Does this mean that the third wave is upon us?
Our numbers in the cape are going up, slooooooooooowly but it is going up. I think it still can be prevented - but this is our country so yea within the next month we will have wave 3
I grabbed a couple packets of brewers yeast just to be sure
Our school has also stopped all after school group activities like sport. This happened in the beginning of last week already.
We had our first idiot at the shop - the staff refused to serve him, they showed him out (the shop is liable for a R5k fine if we serve a non masked person)
But they recommended the shop?
Yea we decided to leave the post up just because of that - our rating on facebook is ironically 5/5
