I’ve seen a common thread with these “anti-maskers” in that they want you the store to prove the effectiveness of mask etc. That’s not the job of the store, the store just has to comply with legislation. If someone has a problem with the legislation they must take it up with the health department.

How is everyone doing on the COVID and LOCKDOWN front? Everyone keeping safe?
I heard via the Facebook grapevine that even kids under the age of 2 years now are also required to wear a mask in public spaces? Can anyone validate if this is true? There is no way my kid is going to keep a mask on.

Was just about to post and suggest that this kak is not going away soon, especially at the rate our vax attack is going. Personally, I’m getting more and more frustrated by it all, but I’m saying focused on keeping myself and the family as safe as possible. We’re still sanitizing everything, wearing masks, limiting social interactions, etc. And I seriously don’t care how “sheeplike” that makes me - there’s way too many of our fellow countrymen who aren’t taking it seriously enough for my liking. See below…
13 000+ new cases in SA yesterday. The 7-day trend line is climbing rapidly, and is almost back to the highs of our first wave back in June/July last year. How cool was lockdown then? It wasn’t. It was kak. But if the vaccination rollout doesn’t gain rapid momentum, and in a hurry, that New Cases line is going to keep climbing.
Daily Deaths are also climbing again. Thankfully not at the same rate as the New Cases line, but it’s getting up there again as well.
Active Cases is quickly closing in on 100 000 again (it’ll get there today, I’m sure). And that’s from the under 20 000 active cases just two short months ago.

Just this morning during tea, we had one of our co-workers come in and tell us about his experience at the hospital this week.
He went in for something unrelated to covid. The doctor showed him the hall he needed to go down, and refused to let him take a short cut through the covid ward. My co-worker asked why it was empty, to which the doctor responded, “Don’t be fooled” and walked away and closed a door.
It was the end of tea, so I said, “Alright, thanks” and left. I mean, the way he was talking, he was trying to make it sound as if the doctor was trying to hint at him that covid isn’t real…
So brutal…

Absolutely right. Regardless of our vaccination rates, though we’re far behind on that front compared to the rest of the world. The only way to we will eradicate the virus is by everyone in the world getting vaccinated, and we’re well past that possibility. I dunno, I’m no scientist but I am logical and can see reason. And I’m no pessimist but COVID is here to stay and I don’t think it is going anywhere any time soon, not being negative, just being realistic.
I am doing my best to look out for and protect my family during these times but you can’t stay in hiding all your life. That being said, I’m not ignorant and am being vigilant about things and taking precautions.

What worries me is the stories I hear about docs who got the shots who are getting covid now…
I want to get over this war on a freaken virus, I need us to win it, just because mentally I am not doing well with it again. It doesn’t help that I am looking for work during a time of crisis and people know we are desperate and offer the world stupidest salaries because they know people will take it.

Yup one cant be let’s say blind COVID but open-minded. I just don’t see how people think it’s not real. Are they trying to say it’s not real it’s a big cover-up story bla bla bla. One can just be realistic look at the facts. The world would not shut down if this was something small.
I would say looking at past Pandemics it going to be the main news till about 2025 if not sooner. I also see that if international travel would become a normal thing again one would need a Covid card, same as the Yellow fever jab you need to go to Central Africa.
And with regards to Kids and masks, I have seen how some people react if a two-year-old does not have a mask, i took them on. I told them its not required, they don’t understand the dangers and you cant force a kid to keep a mask on when they dont like it.
