Am I the only one here who’s still not buying into the hype?
Nope you are not alone
Was never really hyped until today.
I’m concerned that it might be too much like the Deus Ex games, and for some reason I could never get into those. If it ends up feeling that way I’ll probably just refund it.
I also never understood the die-hard fanaticism towards that series. I tried several of them but never got more than 2 hours into any of them. That’s probably why I’m not excited about Cyberpunk, as it really does look like a Deus Ex game.
Different from you this is exactly why I’m starting to get excited for the game. Deus Ex is still my all-time favorite gaming series, and the original is still the best game I’ve ever played.
And System Shock?
I too love Deus Ex and System Shock, and some of my all time favorites. But I do not get either of those vibes from Cyberpunk.
Twas The Night Before Cyberpunk
Twas the night before Cyberpunk and all through the sub;
The mods gave all the spoilers a good scrub.
The reviews had dropped, complaining of bugs;
Crazy performance and frame rate chugs.
But one thing was sure, with scores 80s and above;
Night City was one big project of love.
So with baited breath as we count down the hours;
Choombas fantasize about our cyber powers.
So put off your homework, kiss your family goodbye;
Because tomorrow it’s time to wake up Samurai.

Also not. At school I was more inclined towards RTS and RPG games. I dabbled in the odd FPS and definitely had my favourites (Unreal and Quake series), but I never played System Shock more than a demo and Deus Ex more than 2 odd hours. If Cyberpunk wasn’t in a first person perspective and was more in line with The Witcher, I would’ve been hyped to the n-th degree right now. As it stands, I honestly don’t feel anything for the game at the moment…

I was very much the same RE: System Shock 2. Added to the problem is that the original Half-Life came out just a year earlier and we were probably playing more of the first version of Counter-Strike at around the same time.
The fact that I didn’t have a particularly powerful PC at the time (went from a 486 with an Orchid Kelvin EZ to a Celeron with integrated Intel graphics around that time) also limited my PC gaming options.
But when I did finally get to experience System Shock 2, I loved it. Deus Ex less so, funny enough.
I can’t decide if I should stay up until midnight and try the PS4 version first or go to bed as soon as I get home from work (around 22:00) and get up early to play on PC first before work tomorrow.
At least I’m only working until 14:00 tomorrow but my nephews will be there so I’ll have to find a way to keep them occupied so I can play. (Usually we play games together on Thursdays)
Yeah, Cyberpunk definitely doesn’t look child/teen-friendly.
Hah yeah normally I’d let them help me make my character but I don’t think it’s a good idea to let my 6 year old nephew help my pick a pp size for my character.
Yeah, the latest Russian trailer has an 18+ recommendation.
There’s a new update of 9.7GB out on GOG. Had to shut down and then restart GOG Galaxy for it to start auto downloading.
Not sure about Steam or the consoles (@Pamar has preorder on Steam and there’s no new files to install for him yet).
Also, Nvidia owners may want to do a GeForce Experience check - there’s a new driver just been released which the CDPR QA Lead recommends in a recent Tweet:
I mean, aren’t they smart with helping you choose profile pictures?
#Cyberpunk2077 preload on consoles includes Day 0 update & the game should unlock at midnight (respective time zone) without additional downloads. On PC, (1AM CET) GOG players will have to download a few hundreds mb while for Steam/Epic gamers it will be around 2-3 gigs.
