I hope you all get some playtime in so you can let us know how the game is. I might buy it on Friday.

I liked Deus Ex even though I’m not generally a fan of FPS games (only the last two games though, not the legacy ones). Had this game not been FPS, I would have pre-ordered.

I’ve played the corpo intro on PS4 and I’m now busy with the nomad intro on PC.

You can see the (base) PS4 is struggling a bit with the game and I’m sure there will be a couple of frame drops, hopefully nothing too bad. I’m speaking under correction but I also think the game is not running a full 1080p on the PS4 as the visuals have this “fuzzy” look like when you are running something in a lower resolution than the monitor’s native resolution.

On PC it looks a lot sharper since I am playing it at native resolution (1080p). The game auto detects the settings at medium-low and my frame rate was hovering around the 40-45 mark with drops to low 30’s so I just decided to cap it at 30 for now. It’s not ideal for an FPS game but it seems consistent so I’m gonna roll with it for now. Will mess around with the settings after some patches and new GPU drivers.

Work is going to suck today…

Yeah, I am loving it. Spent around 2 hours in it and happy about the purchase. I was immediately invested in the characters from the get-go, I am eager to see how the other life-paths start.

Performance-wise; playing on the PS4 Pro I do notice some graphical oddities but nothing game-breaking and not worth the discouragement that some reviewers have given it credit for. Things like some texture pop-in and some muddy textures here and there. I imagine a beefy PC, PS5 and Series X will handle it well.

I have purposefully avoided any video reviews for the sake of spoilers so I have only my experiences as a point of reference. But the narrative is what you can expect from a CDPR game, much like The Witcher, choices and writing is well thought out and the voice over is superb.

Gunplay is surprisingly fantastic, I was not expecting this to be honest. I personally thought this would be the biggest letdown. Even the melee combat is done well and can feel punchy. Haven’t had a chance to drive around really as yet.

I can tell the game is going to be a slow burn and can see the depth and extent of dialogue options and choices that are offered very vast, I look forward to the journey.

TL;DR first impressions:
best hands and tiddies I have seen in any game - 10/10 BEO

Just like Withcer 3 I am excited for this, but not buying it yet  I can wait. I am patient.

Just like The Witcher 3, maybe this will take me 5 years to finish too

Okay, so I’m in the middel of a mission, I have to drive the car to a point, get out and talk to a person (no spoilers obviously). My game crashes every single time when I get out of the car. I’ve had 4 crashes in a row, and I cannot go forward. Will have to reload a previous save. This is a literal game-breaking bug and I have to say this has put me off the game completely.

If you are thinking about buying this, DO NOT BUY THIS UNFINISHED PIECE OF CRAP!

I am very very keen on playing this but like always, I’ll wait until later. Then it’s cheaper, patched and probably have some DLC too.

That’s unfortunate.

I’ve had some minor graphical bugs, the most annoying of which was a tutorial overlay that refused to go away. Otherwise my frame rates are pretty awful with a 1070 at 1440p. I’m getting that “cinematic” experience.

Otherwise, I love it. The characters and world building is amazing, I feel invested in what’s going on. The general gameplay mechanics also feel good.

So far, the game is delivering what I wanted from it.

Exactly, my sentiments exactly. The world feels so alive and lived in.

Okay, after installing new drivers, updating Windows, unplugging all my USB devices, restarting my PC and not running out of the car immediately, I managed to get past the point without the game crashing. So I’m at least progressing. But hell this game is buggy.

I think to some up this game in two words is: Brilliantly Buggy

Well now, a work colleague sent me a GOG voucher for the game. I was floored!!! Amazing generous people out there!

Guess I am also getting on the hype train once my almost week long download is concluded

Will start my playthrough once my 3080 arrives. Finally managed to be quick enough and get one of titan ice.
Want to enjoy this game with ray tracing

Spoke too soon :unamused: Just got a mail from titan ice that someone else was faster then me again and they had to cancel my order.

Looking like second play through may have to be ray traced one.

So, question: when you download it on GoG or Steam, does it download the whole thing or the game and then still patches it after?

It’s saying 59 gig download for me at the moment.

My gog preload was 58GB and then this morning it did a 241mb patch download. I presume it would now after its launched just do one download.

Great news, thanks!
