Kiwiland done. Dusty, but done.
And once again, the two pairs of drivers at the top of the championship were back at it again. Top of the results were @Boogey and
@Aldyr. And once again, less than a minute between the two at the end. Stage spoils were shared equally between the two with 6 stage wins each, but @Boogey’s wins gave him enough of a cushion to maintain the lead he gained from Stage 3.
Behind them by about 5 minutes things were even closer. And once again it was the familiar names of @LazyDemoni and @the9avenger9 vying for the third podium step. The gap between the two this time? Just 12 seconds! Amazing driving.
Only two other finishers this week - myself, a full 14 minutes off the winners’ time; and @Beo a further 5 minutes behind takes another P6. Bonus point for covering 6 stages for @Dragonic keeps him in the hunt for that closely contested Top 5 spot in the Championship.
On that subject, the Championship standings after Round 9:
Just 2 points in it at the top, and just 3 points splitting P3 and P4. With three events left to run in the season, things can still go either way in both cases. It’ll be especially interesting to see the impact that @aldyr’s new wheel and pedals will have on his stage times. Times between he and @Boogey are always so close - a handful of seconds on a couple of the stages could make all the difference between claiming the Championship trophy and the Runner Up ribbon.
Next up we head back to Europe and the high-speed roads of Leczna County in Poland where we’ll get to have a good old fashioned Subie vs Evo shootout.
