Talking about Stage 1… there I was on the weekend thinking I’d got things dialled in and drove S1 like a demon, only to see myself 15 seconds slower than @LazyDemoni and half a minute down on @Aldyr. +30 seconds. On one stage. One short stage.
It is very possible, that the way you have your game and wheel configured, is hurting your driving. Happy to help dial it in, one evening, almost like a MEW racing evening
And once again, the two pairs of drivers at the top of the championship were back at it again. Top of the results were @Boogey and @Aldyr. And once again, less than a minute between the two at the end. Stage spoils were shared equally between the two with 6 stage wins each, but @Boogey’s wins gave him enough of a cushion to maintain the lead he gained from Stage 3.
Behind them by about 5 minutes things were even closer. And once again it was the familiar names of @LazyDemoni and @the9avenger9 vying for the third podium step. The gap between the two this time? Just 12 seconds! Amazing driving.
Only two other finishers this week - myself, a full 14 minutes off the winners’ time; and @Beo a further 5 minutes behind takes another P6. Bonus point for covering 6 stages for @Dragonic keeps him in the hunt for that closely contested Top 5 spot in the Championship.
On that subject, the Championship standings after Round 9:
Just 2 points in it at the top, and just 3 points splitting P3 and P4. With three events left to run in the season, things can still go either way in both cases. It’ll be especially interesting to see the impact that @aldyr’s new wheel and pedals will have on his stage times. Times between he and @Boogey are always so close - a handful of seconds on a couple of the stages could make all the difference between claiming the Championship trophy and the Runner Up ribbon.
Next up we head back to Europe and the high-speed roads of Leczna County in Poland where we’ll get to have a good old fashioned Subie vs Evo shootout.
The event opens with three stages all with Maximum Degradation - mind those tyres. And the Dusk stages are all the third of each group - make sure your lights are protected!
Rollin’, rollin’ rollin’… get those motors rolling!
Ubrudź się!
Done. A few good sectors and times here and there, would have been nice to not end up in 2 trees, kill a few people, roll a few times and have my co driver give me the silent treatment or say right instead of left.
2 Days left! Chased @Boogey all event. I made a collosal mistake, then boogey did something similar on the following stage. Relaxed too much, then had to charge the last 2 stages. Pipped at the end.
I was looking at embankments and trees a few times, in front of me, as the car was moving horizontally to my left or right. I was pointing at the ground, once. Heck, I was even looking up at the sky, wondering, oh there goes everything. Thank you @GregRedd for turning off hardcore damage
Man, I wish we could swap replays or something, and someone could whip up some video editing magic for this. Dirt Rally 3 or EA WRC whatsits, better fucking have some replay feature.
Mental note next time, to just record the entire session, in case someone actually takes me up on this.
Only managed to get the first three stages in. And pretty darn poorly at that. Family stuff this evening and then more LS kak later tonight, so that’s all I’ll manage. C’est la vie.
