I once returned a Huawei phone with Takealot but it was many years ago. The phone was just within warranty and I ended up getting the full amount back after which I bought a new different phone.

It charged to 100% and lasted long enough for me to be able to hit the factory reset option. At that point the phone rebooted, as it does when performing a reset, and never came back on again.
So thankfully I have already logged a return and was able to reset it before handing it over. I just hope the reset was effective as there is now no way to tell.
Change all your passwords just to be safe.
Is it a google phone?
If so, and you have backups linked I think you can format the phone remotely

Thanks for that, looks like it will request an erase once back online though I don’t know when that may be.
Just set it up that way, its what I did the last time mum lost her phone, it was located by the find your device in willowbridge, at the one shop she left it at. They didnt pick up the phone when we called it, so I did a remote wipe and once we got the phone back (after they turned it on, it wiped the data, but I had her box so we could prove the IME was hers). We just reinstalled google and synced and an hour later it was all back.
Okay awesome, well it’s queued for a wipe should it not be already, and should it come online. Thanks a bunch
The only thing she lost was sms’s and those we didnt mind
