Delegation is also an important skill.
Greetings gamer gang.
Good Day all.
Yeah I share the sentiment. Been struck with adeno virus and pink eye, courtesy of my son’s preschool class. That JUST after I recovered from 3-week long bronchitis. And now I cracked a rib from the violent coughing. Yes, that’s apparently a thing. 4 weeks of nonstop coughing can do that. Now every cough is agony.
I’d send you a hug, but I know how painful cracked ribs are. They’re so slow to heal, but praying for all around fast healing on all the above.
Morning people of the palace
Have a beautiful day!
@FarligOpptreden I know its a thing, my dad broke 2 that way a long time ago
Hope you get better soon!
Sounds like a very sucky set of circumstances. Hope you’re able to find some comfort and heal up fast. I hope you’re taking some time away from the office and resting up properly. Sending you manly fist bumps of healing instead of the bro hugs - like Murfle says, cracked ribs are much pain.
Yeah spending 2 days at home, isolating in the bedroom to not get the household sick (wife, son, mother-in-law who’s due for a knee replacement surgery and nice who’s studying at Stellies). It is driving me quite mad, to be honest…
Thanks man, I guess a hockey player has countless cracked bones in his body.
Thanks. My wife kept telling me it could happend, but stubborn as I am I didn’t want to believe her. I guess with turning 40 this year, my body can’t handle illnesses as well as it could in my 20’s. Wife preached to me about looking after myself yesterday, both physically and mentally.
Even friends of ours lamented the other day that they always hear what we’re doing for our employees, but never about what we’re planning for ourselves. I mean, the longest holiday we’ve taken in the past 4 years was a week off over the festive period.
My business partner is pushing for my wife, son and I to take a 2-3 week long holiday anywhere in the world this year and write it off as a “business trip”. I see Web Summit is coming up in Portugal again around November, so the trip might coincide with that where I aim to woo investors with a product I want to develop. We have a conditional offer for funding in Austria already, just waiting to get the documents signed. Catch is, they only fund for Austrian tax payers. So seeing as I need to drive this project, I can’t cover my time and costs here with the funding. Bright side is I get to build an offshore nest egg for when the ANC truly wreck the country - which I’m hopeful won’t happen.
Dude I am happy to hear more people are pushing for you to take some time for yourself - don’t do too much work with the holiday - you need a proper rest, I know how hard you have been working.
If I were your office manager / HR manager I would have put you on forced leave to rest.
And yes the moment you turn 40 all goes to hell. Your body decides that it cannot cope!
Even myself, though I had to draw the line, I have finally given up the vape shop job where I worked basically every Saturday. So I was working 6 days a week. I made the choice to put myself first and now I am starting to feel like a human again. I get to rest, I get some time for myself and my hobbies and mentally I am beginning to feel in a better headspace, I am even doing more studies. I am taking on more duties at the office since I have the capacity for it.
Keep strong and look after your health; physical, mental and emotional @FarligOpptreden
Should you need anything, we are but a phone call away.
Thanks for the support man. I’m in a decent place mentally at least, since seeing a psychiatrist for the past 18 months. Physically, I’m a bit of a mess though. Constantly sick, bad sleeping patterns, always tired and gained a good 10kg since last year - well, REgained, since I managed to shake it off beginning of 2022.
When all these blasted bugs are out of my system, I’ll be hitting the treadmill daily to build up some cardiovascular strength again. I’m hoping that also helps to keep the winter bugs at bay.
Morning all. You’re all looking fantastic today. Have yourselves a day that matches.
Busy day is busy.
Morning people of the palace
The first part of my morning was spent nagging people to fill in timesheets
Now I have to bag up 60 corporate gifts
My wife used to do that for all our staff. We appointed someone now who does that daily and he’s very persistent.
I do it weekly, but yesterday was month end…
The fun part is we had one lady who did it. Now I have been recruited to help. Since we have grown so much we needed the extra person.
Apparently I am very good at nagging - not sure it is something to be proud of
