Damn, my life has been hectic and busy since this new role.
Next week: Travelling up to Pretoria/Centurion for the week for workshops on product alignment and business model. A lot of international and distributed teams are coming together.
Following week: Another week-long workshop as some people have extended their travel to get action plans together and alignments from the previous week.
The bonus: company dinners, free food and drink, and team building events.

I loved FEA at undergrad. We mechies tend to use it more than the civil guys for checking strength of materials in complex structures. Basically, take a body and break into millions of little blocks.
Do your strength of material calcs on each little block, using the neighbouring blocks’ results as input, so millions and millions of simultaneous equations. Press F10 on the computer to do the sums for you. Look at pretty pictures and interpret for your client.
