There is something special about watching a skilled machine operator go about his business. Whether its a forklift operator or an excavator operator, the machine becomes an extension of their body and they have ultimate control over the machines movements with mm accuracy… I like it so much it is 90% of my work day these days…

Well, 2.5 days without power now. They need to replace our transformer…

We had a massive direct lightning strike here late Saturday night. We got our power back on Sunday but after load shedding Monday night, the transformer gave up.

Apologies for being so quiet of late, have not been in the best of headspaces lately.

On top of that, I was sitting in the hospital chatting on WhatsApp when it suddenly crashed and I lost all my chats and history. No biggie really, other than the fact that I have lost all the conversations I had with me mum (voicenotes especially).

There’s some great content on medium for all sorts of interests, but I just can’t bring myself to pay for more than my 5 stories a month. I particularly enjoy Admiral Cloudberg’s air crash analysis series, since I’m an airplane nut.
