Hey people of the palace
Feels weird to have a quiet day in the office, its my first peaceful week in ages

now I am used to being so busy that I can barely go pee to trying to redo my email rules since they all seem to be broken

Heyo folks. Also been super busy this side, but not work. We have a new pupper, his name is Jake and he is a MALsationois, with the definite emphasis on the MAL (crazy). He is a floofy cuddly adorable smart Landshark Maligator of CUDDLETEETHLOVEDOOM. Jake Reximus (The Destroyer) Shepherd Vermeulen.

He’s a GSD Malinois cross. We’ve had him for 6 weeks now. He’s a year and 4 months old now. His previous family surrendered him. He is doing really well with us. He was super super skinny when we got him and had severe tummy troubles and was very stressed and scared of other dogs.

He’s been in training for 5 weeks and has learnt a crazy amount. And with the improved nutrition (high quality puppy kibble, raw chicken livers, pilchards, sardines, raw chicken heads and feet and necks, raw egg, etc) he has gained a healthy amount of weight, and has discovered a little thing called ENERGY.

Went from being a couch potato who doesn’t like walks and doesn’t play, to being a lightning fur missile without an off switch who jumps in the Bakkie or Car without hesitation, enjoys playing with his new doggo friends, and has learnt to smell the whole world from Sydney.

He is BUSY. It has been tiring. I don’t game any more. I train with him and play with him and have to prevent him from eating the whole house.

On top of that, Sydney is suffering from something that has him struggling severely with his back legs. He wobbles about, knuckles his right paw, struggles to control his back leg muscles etc. We’ve been through the whole rigmarole of specialists, MRI, x-rays, blood tests, etc. He’s currently undergoing physio (veterinary physiotherapy! It’s a thing!) and I have to try to get him to do rehab exercises every day, but he’s a stubborn old man who doesn’t like new things so it has been rough. And all Jake wants is for Sydney to play with him…

Making my way back to SA. Woke up at 3 AM for a 6 AM (Aus time) flight from Brisbane to Sydney. Next, our flight has been delayed by 2 hours from Sydney to Joburg, 14 hour flight. Then from JNB to CPT, hopefully be home before midnight SA time.
