Are we animals?

It is absolutely possible to be both an animal and also distinguished. Jake demonstrates.

What is more distinguished than a pipe? Perhaps a bow tie? Very well, Sydney demonstrates.

An aside: I had forgotten how wonderful the weather is in Durban in the wintertime. So balmy, a perfect blend between warmth and coolness.

I am thankful for Grammarly :stuck_out_tongue: I can’t type currently to save my life, thanks to having my right hand index finger in a splint. the splint accidentally hits keys when I type :stuck_out_tongue:

I have been seeing a specialist regarding my hand, the index finger is turning under my other fingers and causing discomfort, and the doc diagnosed me with carpal tunnel syndrome in the wrist. He will also revise my scar on the palm of the hand and shave off a small bunion type growth on the middle finger.
This is happening in about 2 months time. In the mean time an occupational therapist, tested my hand, yay its above average in most regards for the grip strength etc. But she measured the index finder angles, and have figured out that it is permanently at 75 degrees and for me to get the most use out of the hand, it needs to be fixed at 40 - 50degrees.

The splint for now is for me to get used to the new angle, which is about 50 degrees. I didn’t think it would make a difference but it really does. It has helped a lot with minor things, but has enhanced the carpal tunnel which I never knew was an issue.

The splint will be worn basically 27/4 except when sleeping or washing, I have gotten used to it really fast. And am amazed at the difference it makes.

It shows…

I kid! So happy that it’s getting better for you and your hand. A couple of months of pain and discomfort to fix something that’s been a problem for years - and would be for many more - is a decent compromise to make, I reckon.

Luckily its more discomfort at the moment, than pain especially since I went back to make adjustments to the splint. The fun and games start in 2 months when he decides on the operation date, luckily Ihave 22 days of sick leave due as well as more than enough annual leave.
The physio starts 2 weeks after the op - that is the part that scares me more than the op
