sigh lightning took out my PS4 last night And I just renewed my PS+ for a year last week. Hope I can get a refund
Having been there and experienced some of it myself, I can see why they call it this.
Oh noes man, that sucks! Perhaps a claim from the insurance and a shiny new PS5?
I have sent my insurance an email, but I don’t have any extra to chip in for a PS5. I don’t even think I can afford the 3.5k excess
Also, my old broker, who was very good to me, isn’t available, sounds like she got sacked or something… “Due to special internal circumstances”, so who knows if this new broker I’ve been assigned will be as good.
Did you have any surge/lightning protection in place? If so, your excess should not be that much or at all.
The property has some beefy protection right at the eskom box. I’ve got it on a UPS, but otherwise not really…
They want me to send it in to get a quote for repairs, but I’m pretty confident it is just the HDMI IC, which I have already found a place selling and can do it myself…
Well so much for that. Flight was cancelled at the last minute. Spent most of the day stuck in the overheated airport trying to get flights rebooked. Back home and we’ll do the whole thing again tomorrow.
Morning all
Was going to give it the old “g’day mates!” but I guess a good old “howzit boets!” will have to do. Maybe tomorrow.
A dingo stol mah bebeh
He stole my airplane too! The goobershite.
Yeah, I heard about some balls-up at OR Thambo. Is that why you were affected?
ORTIA was chaos but our cancelled flight wasn’t related. We were on a Singapore Air flight that originates in CTown, stops in Joburg, and then heads to Singapore. The plane never even left Cape Town - “a technical issue has prevented the plane from departing CTIA.”
They couldn’t give us any indication of when or how long the issue would take to resolve, but “it won’t be before tomorrow night”. So we opted to rebook and are now on the Qantas flight tonight via Sydney instead. Of course, that flight now also has a departure delay. But thankfully only by an hour or so, at the moment. C’est la vie.
While this sucks and is stress inducing, you’d much prefer the technical issue to occur before coming up to ORT than in flight. It’s part of the system that keeps air travel as safe as it is!
100% agreed. Irritating and frustrating as it is, finding the fault while we’re still on the ground is by far the preferred option.
Morning all
G’day mates!
How’s the weather down under? Also, what’s the itinerary and occasion?
Good Morning South Africa
Good day Australia
