We’re in Melbourne for a wedding. Staying with my sister-in-law (her son’s the one getting married). We’ll be here through until New Year. A couple of touristy day trips here and there, but nothing specific planned.

In between, if I can manage to organise things, I’m also hoping to travel up to a town called Mackay (north of Brisbane) to spend a couple of days over Christmas with my brother and his family who live up in the other side of the country.

Weather in Melbourne is wack. Even more irratic and changeable than Cape Town. Yesterday was silly hot, today is near perfect, tomorrow hot again, Monday will hit near 40°, and Tuesday it’ll rain.

Mackay is constantly hot with sickly high humidity and generally damp this time of year. Yet people choose to live there?! (That’s part of the reason I’m only going to stay up there for a few days if I go - I do not cope with humidity very well.)

Yeah when I was in Brisbane it reminded me of Durban weather. Something I do not miss about that side of the country is the humidity.

My sister and her fam live in Melbourne, and my parents are visiting there for a few months. I’ve been a few times too. The weather in Melbourne is a running joke  it is super changeable! other than that, Melbourne is lovely, and I hope you have a wonderful time! changeable, and you can have 6 seasons in a single day :joy:

It’s just Monday afternoon here, so it should be Monday morning there by now. So, good morning.

It was morning at the time of your posting, but only by a few hours

Hope your day has been good. We’ve started to get a trickle of water back in the pipes after the big Rand Water maintenance job, which is good news considering the said the job would only be complete this evening. It helps living in a low lying area when it comes to these things.

Good Morning.

We were lucky this time that the shut didn’t affect us. But the evidence of the last 1 week without water is still around. Four giant holes in various roads that haven’t been closed.

Yeah, @Solitude has been without water for like a week or some such.

My dad in KZN went without electricity for a day and was told a substation blew up, but that was hardly the case, as the power came back on in a reasonable time. It couldn’t have been a substation.
