Had wheel bearings done two weeks ago then was driving on the highway to our fabricator and there was this horrible grinding sound and had to pump the brakes there times to get them to work. So took of the first offramp and headed to a car workshop that is on the way to work, just managed to get there when that happened. Turns out the okes hadn’t torqued the central wheel nut enough and it came off. Took it back there to show/tell them what had happened, they had a look at the otherside and it turns out that side is stripped. I don’t even.

This sounds more like threads were crossed. Either way, not acceptable from that w/shop. I hope they are making right by you, but I’d still take the vehicle to a third party after they sign it off again. You’ve done mining hazops - you know how serious a loss of braking function can be!

unfortunately yes haha, I have had to start going to a mining equipment distributor in order to buy work shoes, everywhere else size 14 shoes are moer expensive. The ones I get at the distributor are cheaper and will last A LOT longer than any chain store, problem is I can’t just go in and buy them, I have to order, so even they don’t just keep them in stock normally, they have them al least unlike most stores.

I’m so worried something like this happens to me. I think my left-rear wheel bearing needs replacing as I am hearing a whirring sound. Secondly, I am sure my CV joints need replacing too.
