You’ll be happy to know that in F1 2020 they are much better. In fact with the new driving model they are not only drivable, but also very fun to drive.
Nice. I haven’t tried it yet.
So far I’ve just slowly been going through the My Team thing. Got so frustrated with Vietnam. With no traction control it’s so easy to spin if you just press the pedal a little too much. Getting better though but now I’m over careful which means I’m slower.
Glad you’re doing the no assist challenge. I should probably do that too, but at the moment I’m having so much fun on medium TC.
Also I completely understand about Hanoi. I really don’t like that track. It’s the next one on the list for me in Season 2 now. Urgh.
Yeah, the amount of times I had to restart the session just to get to grips with the handling model. It was very different, not just from 2018, but also the F1 class.
That’s great to hear. I look forward to playing F1 2020 and especially the My Team career.
Yeah, I just feel that with a controller it’s so hard to gauge that depression on the trigger to know. No traction control for me is practically impossible.
Coming into F1 2019 from 2018 the first things I did was make my settings that from 2018, which may have been a mistake. Like the F2 cars, for example, I had to enable ABS and put TC to full in order to get any competitive lap times.
That being said, I have left the AI difficulty at 78 and this is providing me with some challenge while still being enjoyable. I notice the AI seems to be a lot more aggressive and actually jostle for position and fight you for the line should you find yourselves side-by-side.
Why in practice do I get some of the slowest times then come qualifying I’m sitting middle of the pack (where I think I should be)?
Because in Free Practice the car is driving with medium ERS or even low ERS setting. In qualifying you’re driving in hotlap mode, which will make the CA much faster
I always use manual ERS. Gives me better control of when I want to go fast and when I want to go super fast
I must look into how to use that. I must admit I just ignore it and set it to auto.
Is there a reason that at times some of my shift change lights are not lighting up, or just a game blip?
I notice it too in other people’s videos and think I’ve seen it on previous titles too.
I was going to get my hype on and do some F1 races…
But in all modes (DX11 and DX12, fullscreen, windowed etc) I get this:
I have no rendering other than the mirror. The above is from windowed mode. The below is from full screen.
These shots were taken from the benchmark mode but I cannot do races, time trials or anything else, basically.
I have done an integrity check and am busy a complete clean install… So I played some ACC instead.
Been there, had that.
Think it was change it to something other than “DLSS” or “Custom”.
You can race backwards?
Check that SSRT shadows aren’t on, or it is more likely an issue with antialiasing
Wow… Australia went so well, placed 11th on the grid and finished 8th due to a change in strategy during safety car lap.
On to Bahrain now and finished Practice 1, 2 and 3 and really struggling to set a competive time. Really struggling on this circuit in F1 2019. Such a nice flowing track but battling to find a setup that works. Let’s hope qualifying goes better…
I had such a terrible race last night on Bahrain. My tyres were really getting chewed despite having a 2 stop strategy. My softs would bearly last 9 laps, at 7 I was struggling for grip and they were around 70% wear. Apart from that I really struggled to find a downforce configuration that worked as I had so much slipping in the rear end, even battled to find the right front brake pressure set up.
My times were completely off and I was loosing around a second a lap and at 50% race length I was kind of over it and just wanted the race to end, even if that was by means of a crash or DNF.
Was this written by Seb?
This game really looks good even on an OG Xbone.
Edit: I should clarify, F1 2019.
Looks like you’re missing some of your front wing there mate
It’s Monaco. If you’re not missing front wing, you’re not doing it properly!
