Looks like a little oops over at the Epic Games Store this week… We were expecting to see Aven Colony in the giveaway slot this week, but it is not too be. Instead, a bit of a stand-in it seems:
Nothing wrong with The Escapists of course, especially free. It’s a good bit fun. Just not what folk were expecting. Aven Colony isn’t even listed in the store as “Coming Soon”. Just odd.
Next week, maybe, you can look forward to Europa Universalis IV.
Dawn of the Undead - fight with zombies in action simulator
Humanity is on the brink of extinction again. Zombies are attacking our planet and only you can save it. In our game Dawn of the Undead, you will find a gruesome world of the zombie apocalypse. Do everything to survive - move quickly, protect yourself by any means necessary, shoot clearly at the target and prevent the apocalypse. You have to go through various missions with different options for events, it all depends on your actions. Let the battle begin!
Do you need some great specs to run this simulator?
Can I simulate a RTX3090 and then simulate playing RTX games?
Can you cut open your finger when trying to release the GPU slot pin?
There’s a big Ghost Recon Sale on at the moment to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the franchise.
The original 2001 game is free to keep via the UbiConnect app or UbiStore, until 11 October:
And like @WillySA’s mention of the Fallen Ghosts DLC for GR Wildlands being free on Steam, it’s also free on the UbiStore as well, if you have the base game in your UbiSoft library:
Deals on the rest of the Ghost Recon franchise as well, all through to 8 October:
iREC and Squirrelmageddon! are two games listed as paid in the steam store that can currently be added for free with the green install button on their steamdb pages.
Usually, this means someone screwed up a Steam listing somewhere. They might be having a free weekend or they might be transitioning to always free. Time will tell.
While technically not “free” as you need to have an Amazon Prime sub, I know a couple of folk do have Prime subscriptions, which means they have access to Prime Gaming, which means these are free for them:
I downloaded Aven Colony and it is quite fun to play its quite a lot like sim city meets starcraft kinda…without always running out of money for roads etc. biggest problem i have encountered is electricity generation.
