Did you have a crash or run out of space?

He had a crash. Asked for advice in a thread last week.

Yeah, new hard drive should arrive this week. This hasn’t been a good couple of years for hard drives.

There is still one in my wife’s pc that has been disconnected, I just haven’t bothered taking it out yet. My gaming drive was the middle 4tb with the black and green in the picture. RIP

Downloaded and started playing this over the weekend. While my son loves Batman, I thought he could watch while I played, but the content is a bit dark. Nevertheless, the game really holds up and still looks great, even on a base Xbone.

I did the same with my niece a year or so ago. She was freaked out by the intro scene in the diner. It creeped me out a bit as well…

Yeah, that beginning roasting section where you fire up the Joker is kinda grim.

That’s why EGS gave away both the Arkham Trilogy and the Lego Trilogy. Everyone wins

Talking to @1nF4m0u5 about the current cost of getting hold of a copy of The Long Dark for GC15 if you don’t have Game Pass or the game in your Humble collection, and thought I’d check for any deals on the other Game Club games…

Batman: Arkham Knight is on Steam, but no special at the moment. Wait until the Steam Summer sale if this is your only option:

It is on sale at the moment on the Humble Store, but literally only for another 40 minutes as of this post! $3.99 (R71) is probably the lowest you’ll find it anywhere:

If you miss that one, you can get it for a similar price ($4.00-$4.25 / R71-R75 depending on your history) right now over on Green Man Gaming.

I did post the Humble deal in the OP, though in hindsight I should have posted in a new post.

Wasn’t it free on epic a while back? And thanks for all the info

Yes it was. the whole Arkham Trilogy and a Batman LEGO game or two as well if I remember correctly. There are still some folks who won’t have anything to do with the Epic Games Store, despite all the freebies.

I’ll check tonight if I don’t have it and download it

Currently downloading it on Epic. First time I’m trying anything on their launcher.

Their download is confuddling.

Whoah! 60GB - my version on Steam only clocks in at about 40GB. The Epic version must include some of the extra content.

I think this game still holds up, despite playing on an Xbone.

Yup. When I played the some of it on PS4 last year I thought it looked incredible. On PC at max settings it still outshines many other modern titles…

I think / hope that all my computer issues are sorted out now so I’ll download this the weekend.
It almost feels wrong to start Arkham Knight without first going through the first Arkhams

You haven’t played them yet??? Knight starts with a huge spoiler for the end of City, while City is a great follow-up of Asylum. I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 games, but never really player Origins.

I have played them… Lots of times. Usually I start at the first one and play my way through to Knight  (hence feeling almost wrong not playing the first games first).

If I remember correctly, Origins wasn’t bad. I’d say it is worth playing even if it might not be as good as the others (really can’t remember). It is because of this “lack of memory” of mine that I’m able to replay games so often and be entertained all over again

OK, I am officially participating in this it seems

The game plays really well and the combat is as satisfying as ever. However I am at one point in the game where I need to move a canister from one side of the room to the other. If I move too slow, it explodes. If I move too fast it explodes. Three tries in and I gave up for the night. I will try again tonight.

At first I did a “default” settings benchmark, and it ran really well. Then I activated the PhysX settings and could seriously not notice any difference. So I paid no notice to it. Then I launch the game again later and obviously it needed to restart the game for the settings to take effect. WOW! The Bat mobile’s smoke alone looks fantastic, and I wonder why more games to not implement these effects, apart from the 30%+ performance hit, of course!

Here are some benchmark shots. Because the game still runs way over 60 FPS I am happy to take the performance hit to get these pretty smokes
