Finished chapter 3 (on Hard, obviously). seeing if i can get all the golden guns and clues. really annoying as at least at the start, there seems to be a constant timer that fails you if you take too long…and yet they want you to “explore” to find clues and stuff. so stupid

Started Chapter 10. started skipping cutscenes…its been a while since i first played through but at this point i dont care much for the story. He seems way too whiny for very little reason compared to the first 2 which had a much better noir type feel to it.
Also nothing pisses me off more than REPEATEDLY having the situation of surprising and murdering DOZENS of onscreen enemies, only to skip to a cutscene where the hero bursts through a door and goes “Freeze!” and then is immediately surrounded and disarmed. like dude…i’ve just spent 20 minutes jumping through windows and doors taking out multiple assailants before i hit the ground. you cant let me take out these last 3 in the house?

I still have to make time for this. Played about half an hour so far.
Yeah the game is definitely not as good as the first 2. Glad I finished it now, but meh. The ending also sucks.

I’m on the last chapter now so close to being finished. I liked the game so far. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s been fun.
Will finish it tomorrow evening if all goes well.
I’ve got to where Max has shaved his hair and is now fighting through the slums of Sao Paolo. The environment details are awesome - it certainly shows Rockstar’s attention to detail and creating a believable world.
I’m also glad that Max decided to sober up - the constant scenes of him popping pills and getting drunk was getting annoying.

I still remember the first 2 Max Payne games fondly. I finished both during high school. The third one really wasn’t that bad and I remember enjoying it a lot more roughly 4.5 years ago than I’m enjoying it at the moment…

Unfortunately I doubt that I’ll ever play Max Payne 2. There are just too many games.
