[GameClub] The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Whatever enhances people’s enjoyment of the game, I think is fine for this particular GameClub. The main thing is for us all to play through the story together, I think.

I’m 61 hours in and don’t even think I’m halfway yet…

I loved that quest/contract! The Witcher at its best.

My first playthrough was 120 hours and I did almost everything (except question marks).

You are about halfway of doing 90-100% completion not including DLC

DLC Screenshot just does not compare to in game.

Show me an open world game and I’ll show you some bugs…

I feel like I must have rushed Skellige in my last playthrough. I don’t remember it nearly as well as Velen and Novigrad.

Yet, it has been incredible so far! It’s atmospheric, the characters are fun and interesting. Definitely worth savoring rather than blasting through to get to the end (which is what I think I did last time).

Just finished the sidequests for Cerys and Hjalmar and they were thoroughly amazing. Also switched to Feline armour after I could enhance it, and so far so good.

It feels wrong to just write a bunch of text and not include an image, so here’s Geralt cracking another one of his dad jokes:

This is (sadly) my approach, currently. That being said, I have started a second save on Death March and taking a very slow pace while I take in the world and reading a lot more, trying to get myself more immersed in the world and lore. In doing so, I am finding it simpoly sublime and almost cathartic to a degree.

Stumbled across this playlist last night and started watching them, really interesting and thought I would share:

Those are some of my favourite quests in the game, especially the Hjalmar one.

Hey, Roach did that to himself!

But there are a lot.

You are correct yes. There are a lot of bugs in open world games.

Just Google GTA V or Red Dead Redemption bugs. Cougar man has scarred me for life.

Check that channel for more.

these bugs are dumb and occur regularly and some of them become a bit annoying

Such as?

In my nearly 500 hours of playtime the only “regular” bug is Roach getting stuck on invisible environment.

that’s one, or he spawns in a bloody building…

aside from the ample but less annoying cutscene bugs (like people drawing their swords but don’t), quite often I can’t call Roach. I can mash that button till I’m purple but Geralt refuses to whistle. I have figured out that drawing and then sheathing my sword again seems to fix it sometimes. Other times Roach refuses to sprint, have to quit the game to fix that one. The worst was when the game broke my auto/checkpoint save, had to replay a chunk of game because of that

I did that last night too
