For posterity, here are my stats after a playthrough of the base game, including all the side quests and Witcher Contracts you get along the route of the main story, but none of the additional question marks and only the Treasure Hunts for the Griffin (Superior), Cat (Superior), and Wolf (Mastercrafted) armour completed.
I spent way too much time crafting upgrades, oils, and potions at vendors.
The one major bug that bummed me out: I had superior dimeritium bombs crafted before heading into the finale and they got downgraded to normal bombs .
I have found the Cat set but it’s so far below my level, I wouldn’t even know where to get armour upgraded. Just been playing with whatever good items I find that’s better than what I have
The treasure hunts help with that. since to get the upgraded version of the armor requires the standard as 1 of the crafting components. I’m eagerly awaiting hitting lvl 23 to upgrade my feline armor to the next version
same place you make the first one. so out in the world (or following the treasure hunt quests if you find innkeepers or merchants selling maps etc, buy them…always buy anything with a ! on it and then read/look at it) you’ll find various diagrams. if you go to a a blacksmith or armorer, you can let them craft things for you. the “upgrade” is just an entirely new armor that you have them craft for you (provided you have the diagram for it) which needs more rare components as well as the “below it” armor. So base feline chest costs x components. the enhanced one costs Y components + base feline chest. superior feline chest requires Z components and enhanced chest…and so on. If you dont see it as an option to craft under all the other armor pieces, you dont have the diagram for it. thats where the treasure hunts are useful. you can have it as a quest marker and just go grab the whole set diagram
hope that wall of text explains it, haven’t proofread it.
It is also wholly possible to have say ONLY enhanced wolf gloves…but not be able to craft the base one. just means you found that diagram before you found the basic one…
makes sense, thanks for that.
This is unfortunately the results of me just beelining the main story I guess and not focusing or concerntrating on anything else.
I’m about to finish Heart of Stone for the first time. Such a good expansion! Once again, it’s The Witcher at its best — not just an action RPG where you run around, gut stuff, and collect loot (though there’s plenty of that to be had too), but an intricate mystery that you get to investigate with a some juicy hidden tidbits peppered throughout.
Just brilliant!
Also unlocked my first Epic achievement yesterday. It was pretty hectic, even on normal difficulty.
Ah dude yeah that was challenging and when they corner you safe to say you are fucked XD but one awesome storyline. Really felt sorry for the dude also Did you safe him or killed him?
