I’m going to try and get the somewhat happy ending with the Baron
Death March is best left for NG+. Sure, enemies will be higher leveled, but you’ll have better gear and skills to deal with them.
Been playing yesterday and today. At the Bloody Baron now.
Epic quest line.
It appears my old save is not compatible with the latest version of The Witcher 3, so New Game+ is off the table for me. Either that, or my cloud save is broken.
I messed around trying to find the backup of my old save on one of my old hard drives, but decided the time would be better spent just playing the game.
Tried streaming my gameplay for awhile, mainly because I wanted a recording of my playthrough and don’t want to store it on my hard drive. Unfortunately I ran into some frame rate issues. I’ve since disabled Hairworks and now get full 60fps, but I think I’ll play without an audience for now.
I’ve teed up the main quest for White Orchard, but haven’t done many of the side quests or explored all those question marks yet.
One small negative I noticed from a clean playthrough: it takes almost an hour before you get to the game! It is cutscene after cutscene, with a little bit of tutorial mixed in.
I’m now Novigrad working for Cleaver
Must say since playing on ps4 the quest of Gwent is my favorite
TIL:
meditating for 1 hour will restock all your items…including bombs you’ve made. so for example, made grapeshot and cleared out monster dens with the 2 you crafted. meditate an hour and it uses some alcohol/dwarven spirits to replenish everything back up o_0
I thought it was just me that forgot.
Running around collecting Celandine because I assumed I would need a stockpile to craft Swallow potions while out on mission. Completely forgot that all you need is a stockpile of Alcohest.
Leaving Kear Morhan again, making some good progress despite the little gaming time I have/get.
Off to get Ciri…
Still running around working for Sigi, need to find Whoreson, playing gwent and doing contracts.
Did manage to save the Barons wife at the cost of his commander raiding and killing folk
Am I the only one who cares little for gwent? how much XP/loot am i potentially losing by not playing every trader i meet
There’s a quest you get that you have to play certain npcs. Makes it alot easier not to duel everyone
Think I’ve played that introduction game in the beginning and that’s been it. So far sitting on around 48hours.
If I want to play Gwent, I’ll download the game.
If you’re a completionist you’ll want to play, as there are achievements (and quests) associated with it. Make sure to play the Bloody Baron before it’s too late. His card is the only one I missed to get the achievement. Blood and Wine introduces Skellige as a faction to play as well, with a whole new set of cards to collect.
The standalone game is more complex than the one in The Witcher 3. I prefer the in-game one due to its simplicity and “pure” form.
When I played on the ps4 I missed Baron and Sigi to get the achievement. Not gonna make that mistake again.
Also don’t care for gwent and its only a mini game in the game so its non necessary to play it unless you want the cards.
Rats…you’ve said the word. Guess Im gonna at least play the Baron ASAP and see how i go about getting the achieves
