Despite being one of the most anticipated games of the last three years, until today, little has been known about Hogwarts Legacy. That all changed with the release of 14 minutes of official gameplay and lots of story details.

V weird. Posted this article back in March. Article is, and was, visible on the main site. But this companion discussion thread seems to have been created at the same time as the one for my As Dusk Falls article from today.

ā€œPre-purchasingā€ now available. Warner Bros. still not able to work out how to use the Regional Pricing system. Or alternatively they just donā€™t care. Screw 'em, waiting for sale.

I thought we are boycotting anything Rowling?

I just post the news and trailers. Youā€™ll get no judgements from me on the matter. :expressionless:

That said, while a boycott of Hogwarts Legacy will deprive Rowling of (I assume) a chunk of Wizarding World related royalties, that would also impact on the many not transphobic developers, artists, actors, engineers and creators who are working on the game. And as she has no direct involvement in the creation and development of the game, Iā€™m more than happy to support the developers of it.

Iā€™m not as happy that Iā€™ll have to wait for a steep sale price to handle Warner Bros.ā€™ continued refusal to charge regional prices for their games before I can show them that support though.

I will be buying it, the price is steep but I am a huge fan of the IP.

I fully agree with all your statements. I say things toungue in cheek sometimes, but maybe with a hint of sarcasm or even some truth sprinkled in. In this case I did not even know why so many people are anti Rowling right now.

I have educated myself on the matter, and feel the game deserves a chance, but she does not.

Been saving up with my side job. Going to buy this. Pity that even though I will be able to play 3 days earlier, it will take me 5 days to download :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Iā€™ve started reading the HP series to my son. I was roughly his age when I read the first book. Itā€™s still just as magical and this game really looks like it will bring the world of Hogwarts to life as never before.

I bit off-topic, Iā€™m sorry, but how old is he if I may ask? And are you traditionally reading it, digital or physical, or doing audiobook?

I started reading it to my daughter at 11, stopped when she hit 13 and being read to was too kiddy for her.
I did voices etc as well, it was an adventure for us.

Iā€™m a bit advocate for this, reading The BFG was great in this way too. Funnily enough, a lot of the characters ended up being British. :stuck_out_tongue:
