iRacing - The Ultimate in Sim Racing

Forgot to put these up last week:

@DieGrootHammer

@Nosferatie

@Oltman

@GregRedd

@Solitude

@DeadlyPineCone

(DPC, yours should show once you have your first race start. Soli, not sure why yours doesn’t show your rank. Again, let me know if you’d rather not have this shown here and I’ll remove it.)

For those still slogging, or attempting to slog, through the Rookie and Class D licenses, the Global Mazda circuit for this week is the Tsukuba Circuit.

No idea what a reasonable Rookie level time in the MX-5 should be, but just for interest… the IRL circuit record for Tsukuba is 44 seconds held by Kamui Kobiyashi in a 2015 Dallara.

Those colours! Please replace mine with this:

Mine doesn’t show a rank because I’m so bad and my iRating is so dismal.

Hey hey hey! What is that pommie doing in our midst!? :rofl:

Kak. I don’t even have an iRating, only 1 start, and still on R license, and have a rank.

Who invited the blerrie uitlander anyway?!

Dave Perel, SA racing driver who once held the GT3 lap record at Spa, does an iRacing review of sorts.

I have the same problem with the task bar not disappearing. It’s weird.

Try pressing Alt+Enter. I had that once and it took it away.

I give up. iRacing is full of idiots!!! Guy spun early in the race, had to get repairs and then caught up with me. He is obviously faster than me so I let him pass. So he takes a sharp left into me just before the finish line. Deliberate ass!!! :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

That sucks. Did you save the race replay? If you did and it’s obvious from it that the arsehat deliberately crashed into you, it may be worth filling a protest thing.

I’ve never felt more close to you than I do now.

If I can offer anything it is hope. It does get better. Although I’m still slow :frowning:

You slow? Haha. I’m still far off your pace currently. And I practiced Monday night and last night.

I think it’s going to take me a while to find my feet in this game. I watch youtube videos and see people gliding through the course so painlessly and it’s nothing like that for me. I’ll just have to continue practising until I get better.

I get it, spent all last night and gained about 0.8… it’s going to be a struggle to find 3 seconds.

However @GregRedd was correct regarding the brakes. I’ve been trying to do what a guy did in a Youtube video and so I moved that little hud that shows your input to the middle of my screen so that I can have a look at my inputs.

I noticed that I can’t control my braking like he does. So I changed my braking setup a bit and it’s a lot better now. I wish I had load cell brakes because I just get no feeling on the brakes at all. I drove my real car today and tested a bit in real life and you can really feel the brakes. Something I don’t get with my Logitech setup.

Something that has really irked me about all of this is that I’m normally quite good at things once I apply myself to stuff. This, not so much. It has been a struggle since the start. But I’m hoping that with continued practice it will become more second nature. I want to become good even if it means lots of hard work.

Yip, I feel the same way. It takes much longer to “get good”. However, the Roval track was starting to grow on me, and my laptimes kept coming down the more I raced. I am hoping the Tsukuba Circuit will prove the same results. I ended up with a LOWER SR than when I started… Not good! I want to move up to C so I can race IMSA races in my

REAL FERRARI! (said like Luigi from Pixar’s Cars)
