With the long term plan racing in the Le Mans. What are your current plans? The ones who have moved on from the rookie license?

Does the MX-5 cup count towards your license from D to C?

I see that every year at Black Friday or soon after iRacing have specials. One of them have been where you can get $100 credit when buying with $75 so that’s something worth thinking about.

Nope. Once you reach C you need to move up in the licensed series in order to get more license points.

My plan is to get a GTE car to start training with. Last night it sounded like everyone was keen for the Porsche RSR.

And the progressively get more tracks in the Le Mans series or the IMSA series. Both are endurance racing series which will help you get used to the car.

This can get expensive so the cheapest way is to get the car and the Le Mans track, and practise on that one only. The problem is that you then only get one week per season to race on that track.

They get you though, by offering discounts for the more stuff you buy at once… So look at which tracks will be next in those series and buy one car and 5 tracks.

This site will give you info on which series are most popular, which will probably guide me more than the Le Mans series right now.

So dit a race in the Radical around Spa, 22 laps, was dead last on the first lap, finished second. My arms is killing me from FF on 100%… but it was worth it…

Because…

My times are still not great, need to work on my line and braking later. The radical is a bit lock up happy especially in downhill bendy bits like Spa.

Waar is my Klippies? Exhausted!

This game makes me question my intelligence. It also makes me want to throw the steering wheel through the window.

I don’t know what’s wrong with me.

Started getting constant times. Try race. Do qualy and come second. Race starts and my brain stops working and I start early. Don’t know how to serve penalty. Drive to pits, speed in pits Another penalty. Car gets towed because I don’t know how else to stop the car in the pits.

During race I hit the bloody curb. I didn’t hit it once during the time trials or practice or anything. Tow to pits. Hit curb again. Drive rest of race with wheel being turned to one side.

Finish race. Write this. Feel like idiot.

I am my own worst enemy. Going to take a break. Will try again on Monday before I lose my mind.

Exactly this happened to me! Served a penalty for starting early, then they spent 50 minutes filling up my car! Drove out and got destroyed by cars flicking in and out… So frustrating!

But then you have one race where you jusdt get everything right, the laps come in easy and the guys in front of you fail one by one. And you come second or even first. And you come back the next day again

I’m starting to learn how mentally difficult this game is. Concentration and perseverance are king.

I finally did an open practice session and my lap times were really awful. I at least wasn’t the slowest, which was nice. After following someone I learnt a few trick that could get me a couple seconds off my time, but by that stage my focus wasn’t there and I couldn’t string together a solid lap so I ended the session.

I find joining mates for practice sessions really help. We have done a few where we all join the same server, we follow each other around, find the better lines and keep the encouragement high.

And just as you get used to the track and feel like racing they change the track! New tracks tomorrow sometime.

My goal for this week is to complete more than 5 races and to work on getting through the races without stupid mistakes. I’ll work on getting faster in the future. For now it’s on keeping focus and not let the whole multiplayer aspect get to me. It’s the same problem as with F1 2019. I’m fine in a single player race but put me in a multiplayer session and I become a monkey.

So this week is all about staying calm and in control during multiplayer races.

Got my SR up to 3.63 tonight, a nice haul for just 2 races. So I guess I will be C license soon. But with the new tracks from tomorrow I can see that taking a bit of a knock in the first few races while I learn the track…

BTW, if you want something a little bit faster you can look at the Spec Racer Ford Challenge. Free car and free tracks. But the car handles a little bit more difficult.
