The original games (and Andromeda) are all also available to play via EA Play with Game Pass (at least on PC).

Was considering this if I build up enough in my steam wallet from my vitality vouchers. However, according to the steam reviews, the game sucks when playing with mouse and keyboard and you cannot customise the graphics settings… so that’s a no from me until they fix that. I have no intention of playing Mass Effect (or any shooting games for that matter) with a controller.

Is there a lot of reading to be had in any of the Mass Effect games?

Depends. There is tons of stuff if you want to read, it’s there, down to planetary stats and bios. But as long as you’re not reading the subtitles, I wouldn’t say there’s that much…

Dude, the game hasnt changed - its still the same game, they just made it prettier, I am loving it.

ME1 was never perfect, but they managed to get it so much better. I havent had many issues, I sometimes get stuck in cover or it wont go into cover - but that is standard for ME1.

Overall the gameplay is smoother, loading is much faster (especially on my SSD) and its beautiful. And I still get lost on the Citadel.

You can be honest, ME1 aged like milk   . The main reason I’m considering getting this sooner rather than later is so that I can replay ME1 because, while I love it to bits, it’s the one I replay the least.

I actually have always enjoyed ME1’s mechanics. I mean, ME2 blows it away, but the first one feels so RPG in comparison.

yeah ME1 was definitely the right start to that series, with ME2 being a very good climax and all things considered ME3 was nice with tying up loose ends with some of the npc’s, one that stands out is the story of the krogan and the asari which you first help to get together in ME1

VERY MUCH want to get the legendary edition, but I do not have the money for it, might see about the origin pro for a month, but then I will have to make sure to play it non stop to get my moneys worth.

NEVER!

Its still the same game, I loved one for the story, it was the story that made it amazing, it always had issues but I loved it. Still loving the game, the feels are all there!

It usually takes me 120 hours to complete everything in all 3 games.

I’m glad someone else said this. I 100% agree. Actually, the cover shooter follow ups are not my cup of tea.

Mass Effect 1 is also my favourite. I loved the weapon and ammo customisation that could be done on the fly.

Oh, ME1 is my favourite in terms of story, but going back to the gameplay feels rough. I do feel ME3 stripped a lot from the RPG elements of 1, but I do like the tighter gameplay even if it’s way more slanted towards the action elements. Overall, from a gameplay POV, I’d give it to ME2 in my books. To this day, I can still remember the tension of going through my first playthrough of the Suicide Mission

Got origin pro, started playing yesterday a bit, I think they added some stuff to the char editor, can also see the graphic improvements there, although some of the cutscenes seem to still be from the original as evidence by how the normady was like stuttering in the first scene where joker jumps the relay, however later during the first mission where you travel with the cargo elevator, there is no stuttering!! YAY, that was like the most notable thing in the first game that I remember regarding performance XD.

as I have gone along and get introduced to more npcs, I can see the graphics getting better and better, the citadel also looks really pretty, also you can skip the elevator talks now if you want, I don’t coz some of them are quite funny. HUD has also been updated, looks nice and clean now.

So far so good, going to play again in a while as long as the clients don’t call me again. Wanted to play last night a bit, but there was a 9GB update, wonder if i can find some patch notes…
