MEW F1 2019 League Races [MEWRL]

You guys ready for tonight? I did a couple of laps at the circuit last night to familiarise myself with the track. It’s a nice one to drive.

What time do you guys start?

Lobby is open from 7:50PM for 30 minutes. Practice session scheduled to begin at 8:00PM or as close to that as possible once all 4 of us are in the Lobby. Whatever happens, we’ll start the practice session by 8:20PM latest.

Soli goals for the evening:

  1. Don’t go off the track even once.
  2. Have a super clean race.
  3. 4th or better result.

All those and I’ll be happy.

If you promise to show us your pom poms, we’ll wait for you

We use the “Race Radio” channel on Discord for voice comms, but if you want to watch, and the guys don’t mind (or can - I haven’t been using Discord on my machine because I’ve had issues with my mic, but I’m going to try fix that today) when you do get there, start a Call with me and I’ll share my screen. Add the other guys to the call and they can too. I think you need to initiate the call so that you can add any others who may want to watch as well without any of the guys playing having to do it.

When I tested it last week I could show 2 screens side-by-side, or select just one and have the other available from an icon on the top right. Don’t see why it wouldn’t work for more screens.

Screen on the left is my alt account running on a laptop in the wife’s office, on the right is my desktop.

My alt accounts’ screen maximised, with the icons showing the screen-share participants.

Guys, if you do want to share your game screen with @Wyvern and other “spectators” in the MEW Discord, accept her Friend Request if you aren’t already, answer the call from her, and click on the “Turn on Screen Share” button below the avatar icons.

Once you’re sharing your screen, you can click on the same button to get “More Screen Share Options”…

Including selecting a specific screen if you have more than one, or a specific application window if you’re on a single monitor setup.

I am ready for tonight! I am having some FFB issues (I dont know what I am doing!) so might have one more race with my controller this week. This time I will be on time. I hope. Maybe. Probably. I dunno.

And I will gladly share my screen with anyone, as long as they dont give my position away!

I’m sorry to hear about your FFB issues. Is it in this game only or more games? I’ve had some wheel problems with F1 2019 and it took me a while to sort it out.

I hope you’ll be on time haha. I’m so tired. But I know how life goes.

When I plug my wheel into the XBOX and Play F1 2018 the FFB is perfect! The wheel wants to pull straight when turning, so I can feel how far I am pushing, and I can feel it losing grip. Then on PC the wheel has so much vibration and other feedback that I have no idea of grip levels. I am not sure which is more realistic, but I enjoy the smoother actions of F1 2018 on XBOX.

I am sure I will sort it out but will need to spend time with it to get it just right. And since this is a lEague race I want to make sure I give it my best

Just confirmed with the Residential Social Planning Committee that I will indeed be on time tonight

Ah okay yes, it does sound like you need to change some settings. I really struggled coming from the XBox One where the wheel just worked perfectly to the PC and F1 2019 where I had all kinds of problems. But yes, it still doesn’t feel right for me in F1 2019. I also can’t seem to feel when it’s losing grip.

I’m sure you’ll have to use the wheel tonight however. It’s only fair. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s awesome that you’ll be on time. I look forward to the race.

I found that the FFB profile of any game between the console and PC is different. On PC you get more FFB than on console. But if you’re not used to it yet, it is understandable that it is difficult to grasp. @oltman I suggest dropping in the game. Below is a pic I took when I setup my wheel with F1 2019 for FFB:

Maybe that can guide you a bit and get you on the right track

Thanks man! I will try that out! Really helpful!

Btw, I thought you had Toro Rosso screens in you office! That looks like a shot of your desk with the keyboard and book and stuff, and then the TR screens behind your desk! Hahaha!

Patch 1.05 - OUT NOW!

16 JUL @ 3:50PM - JENNYANNE_M

Hi everyone!

In this patch, the performance order of the teams has been rebalanced to better replicate the F1 Season and how it has evolved since preseason testing.

This update affects both the car handling of your car and the performance of the AI cars. Individual team handling traits have been tailored to be more representative of their real-life counterparts, with updated aerodynamics achieving a performance improvement of between 1 – 1.5 seconds per lap, mainly in higher cornering speed, and vehicle performance has been updated to give a more accurate assessment of each car’s strengths and weaknesses. The other update that you’ve been asking us a lot about is F2 in multiplayer, this will be available in Unranked Multiplayer and LAN game in patch 1.05.

Here’s the notes for this patch:

  • 2019 season performance updates
  • F2 is now available in Unranked Multiplayer and LAN
  • AI performance has been improved in wet weather for both F1 and F2 vehicle classes
  • Improvements to AI blocking behaviour
  • In photo mode changing shutter speed will no longer make the screen go black
  • Fanatec wheels will no longer send strong force feedback turning the wheel to the right on race starts
  • Rain / ERS charging lights now work on PS4 Pro
  • First Ten Down (Complete 10 races online) achievement will now unlock correctly
  • Stopped graphical glitches occurring and getting more frequent during long play sessions

Not seeing anything in there about changes to the Multiplayer car, so hopefully driving it tonight won’t be any different. If the damn update finishes…

Nice race again tonight, thanks guys. And thanks to all those MEWBs who popped in to Race Radio to say hello - sorry we couldn’t get the screen share thing working very well.

Some quick screenies:

Now why does this look familiar? (Thanks though, got me from the back of the back to P5 before T2  )

No time to practice for both the F1 League AND the Dirt Rally League? Be like Greg - do both at the same time! (Thanks to this blunder I went all the way back to P15. Karma I guess.)

Hammer, it was this close…

Hungary next week.

Yeah thanks for the race everyone. Was fun yet again.

Also @GregRedd that pic you shared is not of me passing. I am driving a green car. I was the one that passed you from behind, while you were reversing back onto the track or something. Was just as close as that pic though.
